Our Walk and Talk bereavement group is free for adults in the community who are grieving. Members of our bereavement team will guide a walk in the fresh air, followed by a cuppa. It gives people a chance to talk to our bereavement team and other bereaved people who know what it is like living with grief. Our next walk will take place on Tuesday 25th February at 10am. The meeting point is the entrance to the Red Stables. The walk will be followed by tea/coffee in Olive's Room Café. The walk is suitable for most levels of mobility as it takes place on flat paths within the park. Please wear or bring suitable clothing to take part in the walk on the day, as the walk will go ahead in all-weather unless there is a weather warning. Please register for the group on https://lnkd.in/ehM5gjB5 or by contacting the bereavement team on bereavement@sfh.ie or 01 832 7535. #bereavementsupport #hospice #community #griefandloss

We are thrilled this week with the support we've received following the launch of our new campaign #YourFinestHourForHospice. This national campaign co-ordinated by Together For Hospice aims to raise much needed funds for hospices nationwide. We truly hope your workplace will consider registering and getting involved this April. The gift of your time can make an incredible impact on patients and their families in St Francis Hospice. It's simple... ✅Employers are asked to give one hour of time to employees, on a date of their choosing in April . ➡️In exchange, employees are asked to donate 1 hour of their salary to their local hospice The hour gifted to your employees can be as simple as you like - an hour off on a Friday afternoon or pastries for the team on a Monday morning. It’s an opportunity to take an hour out of our busy workdays to reflect and acknowledge what just 1 hour can do for your local hospice, whilst also appreciating the value and gift of time for yourself ❤️ Learn more about the campaign at https://finesthour.ie #YourTimeCanBeAPreciousGift #FundsStayLocal #GetInvolved #TogetherForHospice

Today we welcome representatives from several Scottish and English hospices to St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown. They are here to learn more about our collaborative funding model for hospices in the Republic of Ireland. Representatives of the All Ireland Institute for Hospice and Palliative Care will give insights about our recent achievement of full core funding from the government, ensuring the sustainability of palliative care services nationwide. Staff and members of Together for Hospice will share information about our national fundraising campaigns, in which “money raised locally stays locally” to support the 24 palliative care services across the country. These funds allow opportunities for innovation in patient care, new hospice buildings, and the growth of palliative care services to keep pace with our growing and aging population. Thanks to collaboration between hospices, local communities, the Health Service Executive, the Department of Health and the support of our elected representatives, Ireland is a world leader in delivering high-quality, innovative palliative care services. Supporting people to live as well as possible for as long as possible, to have as ‘good’ a death as possible, and to care for their families during the experience of bereavement reflects our societal values of care and compassion. We are privileged to share our learning with our colleagues from across the Irish Sea, and to learn from their experiences. #collaboration #hospice #palliativecare #community Together For Hospice The All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care Health Service Executive Department of Health - Ireland Hospice UK Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD Jack Chambers Emer Currie Strathcarron Hospice The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice ACCORD HOSPICE Ayrshire Hospice Pendleside Hospice Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services, Harold's Cross, Blackrock & Wicklow Fintan Fagan
