As a member organisation of AIIHPC, St. Francis Hospice hosted a visit this week for representatives of the NI Committee for Health. Discussions were continued to help inform the Committee's ongoing Inquiry into Access to Palliative Care Services. We will continue to support the great work being carried out by our member organisations in Northern Ireland and to highlight the challenges they face, as well as to share what we have learned from the journey to securing full Government funding for hospices in the Republic of Ireland, and the new Adult Palliative Care Policy. St Francis Hospice are encouraging people across North Dublin city & county to sign up to this exciting new fundraising initiative, and we're hoping you can bring your workplace and colleagues along with you The concept is simple ❤️ We are asking employees to donate an hour of their salary to their local hospice using our online wage calculator. In exchange we hope employers will consider giving an hour of time to their employees on a date of their choosing throughout the month of April. Visit https://finesthour.ie for more information and ideas on how to make the most of #YourFinestHourforHospice #FundsStayLocal #TogetherForHospice #YourTimeCanBeAPreciousGift

Our finest hour for hospice – a scrummy Sprout & Co lunch in the Lennox Building, our favourite Iconic Offices! A lovely moment of wellness for our bodies and minds, honouring the hospice teams across Ireland who provide such amazing levels of comfort and care to patients and their families. Our thanks to Seán Graham for introducing us to this wonderful fundraising initiative for Together For Hospice. #YourFinestHourForHospice

Our next Grief Café will take place on Friday 4th April from 10:00-11:30 am in St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown. This is a safe and supportive environment for people to connect over a cup of tea or coffee with others who are grieving. Pop in at any stage during that time for a cuppa and a chat. Grieving can often feel isolating, but when you meet others going through a similar experience, it can help you feel more understood and less alone. The Social Work team and our bereavement volunteers will also be present at each café. This is a free group for adults in our community who are grieving. To register, visit our web site and fill out the form, or contact the bereavement team at bereavement@sfh.ie or 01 8327535. Web site: https://lnkd.in/ehM5gjB5 #griefcafe #bereavementsupport #hospice
