This nomination recognizes the program's positive impact on children and families in the district, as well as its valuable support to school staff in meeting student and family needs. 🌟 We are so proud of all the hard work and dedication of the staff to have earned this nomination from the school! ❤️ Our Lansingburgh Connects program links our students and their families to vital mental health and social supports necessary to bolster student educational achievement and improve health and well-being. Thanks to funding from the Stewart's Shops Corp Holiday Match, the The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region Impact Grant from the Marjorie Rockwell Fund for the Disabled, the M&T Charitable Foundation, and the WGY AM/FM Christmas Wish Fund, we were able to purchase additional sensory kit items for our classrooms! Weighted blankets and lap pads help children’s bodies feel calm, which can translate to improved focus and lessened anxiety. Additionally, our new sensory blackout tent can be calming when their nervous system is overstimulated, providing them with a space for self regulation to occur. #SensoryKits #SensoryPlay #HopeForTomorrow
