Pet ownership has great benefits, particularly for seniors. Studies have shown that owning a pet increases activity levels, reduces stress, anxiety, and mental decline, and boosts healthy habits. For seniors with dogs, the necessary daily walks also increase socialization with neighbors and/or other dog owners, a facet vital to those who may face loneliness. The unconditional love and companionship provided by furry family members are important to maintaining hope. But, when a pet owner is food insecure, their pet is too. Our food pantries, while primarily for humans, will also offer pet food, treats and/or cat litter when it is available from generous donors. How can you help and make this part of your Lenten almsgiving? When shopping, pick up some extra dog or cat food, treats, or cat litter and drop it off to our food pantries in Cold Spring or Erlanger! #NeighborsYouCanCountOn #HelpUsHelpOthers #40DaysofGiving #LentenAlmsgiving

关于我们
We serve the less fortunate in Northern Kentucky with basic necessities regardless of religious affiliation or any other demographic. We provide services to those in residing in 28 parish or Conference communities located in the counties of Kenton, Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Grant and Pendleton. Our Vincentian volunteers visit the homes of those needing help to offer spiritual, emotional and material assistance. In-home visits offer the personalized care to determine the extent of the need, the validity of the request, and develop a plan to move toward stability. One of our goals is early intervention with the hope of preventing homelessness for our clients. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Northern KY is a network of friends, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need. The most important part of our mission is to provide hope to those in need. One can survive without material goods, but when you have lost hope that tomorrow will be better than today, you have lost everything.

You are invited to join us for ???? ???????? ???? ????????????! Corresponding with the 40 days of Lent, this initiative celebrates the Lenten discipline or pillar of almsgiving. Each week until Easter, we will feature a different way for you to give to help our neighbors in need. Our focus for days 1-4 is pet food, treats, and supplies for pet owners who are served by our food pantries. Pets are considered family members to many and when families are struggling with food insecurity, their pets are too. We recognize that it is important to keep these families together, especially as pets provide companionship, comfort, and hope in times of need. Offering resources like pet food and treats alongside food for the rest of the family offers hope that these important family members can stay at home where they belong. How can you help and make this part of your Lenten almsgiving? Pick up some extra dog or cat food or treats, or cat litter when you shop and bring it to either the Cold Spring or Erlanger food pantries! #NeighborsYouCanCountOn #HelpUsHelpOthers #40DaysofGiving #LentenAlmsgiving
