关于我们
St. Mary’s is a local, independent healthcare organization with a proud 120-year tradition of providing quality, compassionate care to New York’s Fulton-Montgomery region. Our 1,400+ team members share a passion for excellence, a commitment to our community, and a fundamental belief that a career in healthcare is life changing for patients and providers alike. Our supportive environment encourages input, creativity, and collaboration. This combination enables us to attract and retain talented individuals who embrace opportunities to better serve our rural community. As a result, in addition to inpatient care at our 130-bed hospital, we offer a robust array of outpatient services where our community needs them most—close to home. These include but are not limited to primary care and pediatrics; urgent and emergency care; general and minimally invasive (including robotic) surgery; oncology/cancer care; behavioral health and addiction medicine; obstetrics and gynecology; otolaryngology (ENT); gastroenterology; podiatry; infusion therapy; sports medicine, physiatry, and rehabilitation services; and a headache center. We even have a community pharmacy to make it as easy as possible for patients to obtain their medication. And we’re adding pulmonology and a sleep center. In keeping with the mission of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Mary’s pays special attention to the poor and underserved. We remain committed to meeting the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical needs of our patients and to providing the necessary resources—within and outside the workplace—to take great care of our St. Mary’s family.

March is National Nutrition Month! Our registered dietitians are food and nutrition experts who provide personalized nutrition guidance to help people understand the connection between the foods they eat and how these foods impact their health throughout life. Essentially, dietitians translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living while assisting individuals in making positive lifestyle changes. As members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, dietitians create individualized care plans as part of the provision of medical nutrition therapy that typically results in the prevention, delay, or management of diseases and/or conditions. Dietitians are critical in the identification and treatment of malnutrition, delivery of nutrition support, and provision of diet education to patients, residents, caregivers, and the community. The dietitians also work closely with the Food and Nutrition Services team to ensure high quality, nutrition food options are available for our patients. On a broader level, dietitians promote food security and health equity by advocating for access to nutritious food and the prevention and management of chronic disease. At St. Mary’s Healthcare, we are fortunate to have members of the clinical nutrition team with advanced certifications. Two team members are Board Certified in Gerontological Nutrition and one is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. While every attempt is made to screen all hospital patients, the dietitians prioritize hospital patients deemed to be at highest risk as well as any patient with a provider ordered nutrition consult. All nursing home residents are followed by the clinical nutrition team. The dietitians are available in-house Monday through Friday, and a clinical nutrition team member is on call every weekend and holiday.
