Did you know St. Louis Area Foodbank has a grocery store on wheels making a HUGE difference right here in our community? It's called Food on the Move, and it's seriously amazing! ???? Imagine not being able to easily get to a grocery store. That's a reality for a lot of our neighbors. Food on the Move solves that problem by bringing the store to them! At a recent Food on the Move distribution, we spoke with neighbor Vikki, who shops at Food on the Move when it comes to her area. She mentioned how much of a lifeline it is to have food available through the Foodbank. "I like this event because we get to choose what items we want, and we don’t have to take more than we need. And I really appreciate it when there is fresh produce available," Vikky told us. “Without the Foodbank there are days when our family would not eat. When the shelves and the freezer are empty, it’s really scary. So, I appreciate knowing that there are events like this where we can get what we need to help us through.” It's not just about groceries, though. It's about stability. Knowing you have access to healthy food means you can focus on other important things, like bills or your kids. ?? And guess what? I’ve been a longtime supporter of the Foodbank, so it was great to see I could order my groceries on the Walmart app as usual and help the Foodbank at the same time.
