ALSAC is the largest healthcare-related charity in the United States. Founded in 1957 by Danny Thomas, our sole mission is to raise the funds and awareness needed to operate and maintain St. Jude Children's Research Hospital?. While our headquarters can be found in Memphis, Tennessee, we have additional offices in more than 30 locations across the country and in Puerto Rico with positions in fundraising, marketing, digital, information technology, legal, finance and many other disciplines all supporting our lifesaving mission - Finding cures. Saving children. ? At ALSAC, we believe in hiring the best and brightest from around the globe, and in 2020 we were named #1 on Fast Company's 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators. With a concerted focus on diversity and inclusion, we value and respect the contributions of all of our employees. Our work environment encourages everyone to be their authentic selves as we strive together towards a day when “no child dies in the dawn of life.” As we look to the future, we understand that we must be relentlessly innovative. Our work helps fuel the groundbreaking research and treatment at St. Jude and ensures that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. St. Jude patient Hunter, 11, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, in June 2023. The cancer spread from his lower right leg into soft tissue resulting in an amputation. But Hunter meets his hardship with humor. "Because being sad and depressed all the time, that's not a life good for living," he said. He leans into the fact that people notice his prosthetic leg by wearing light-hearted shirts that say things like "Shark Cage Tester" and "Leg Story, Twenty Bucks." Hunter's parents say they are proud of the determination he has shown through his diagnosis and commends him for giving it his all.

5?? Childhood Cancer Awareness facts ???St. Jude has helped improve the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% in 1962 to more than 80% today. ???On average, more than 290 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every week. ???St. Jude leads more clinical trials for childhood cancer than any other children's hospital in the U.S. ???Worldwide, about 400,000 children and adolescents develop cancer each year. Only half of these children's diseases are diagnosed. ???Approximately 90% of children with cancer live in low- and middle-income countries where they lack access to adequate diagnosis and treatment. Most of these children will die from their disease.

Our cause unites all! ??? September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month but here at ALSAC we work to spread awareness each and every day for kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and around the globe. While there are many things in this world that can create division, there is one thing we can all agree on -- no child should die in the dawn of life. This month, join our lifesaving mission. Finding cures. Saving children. https://bit.ly/47dYotU

Art and Memphis go hand in hand. This wall of artwork can be found at Renasant Convention Center and celebrates the relationship between St. Jude and Memphis—brought to life by the talents of St. Jude patients. Patient bios and artist statements convey the powerful emotional spectrum that patients experience: From the struggle of diagnosis to the joy of remission.
