In January, the St. Joseph Fund, along with leaders, sponsors, and more than 100 caregivers, gathered to celebrate the Blessing of Discovery Park, the new home of Providence South Division. The space was thoughtfully chosen to reflect the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange’s commitment to being good stewards of space and designing a setting that nurtures connection. This special gathering was the first time that so many of us met in person since the pandemic. During the Blessing, Father Gregory Kirsch, Office of Legacy & Heritage and priest of the Diocese of Orange, reminded us, “We honor the places where we live, work, heal, learn, and gather because when we gather, we hold that God’s loving presence is there.” We are grateful for the opportunity to come together to celebrate our new home and look forward to continuing our collective work to serve all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

Restoration. Connection. Community. The Black and Indigenous Birth Justice Collaborative’s first retreat created a healing space for birth workers to rest, reflect, and recharge—without pressure or performance. Addressing systemic challenges for upstream opportunities means tackling the root causes of issues rather than just responding to their effects. Too often, efforts focus on immediate needs, like providing food or shelter, without addressing the larger systems that create inequities in the first place. By investing in upstream solutions, such as policy change, community power-building, and economic opportunities, we can create lasting impact. This approach shifts the focus from short-term relief to long-term transformation, ensuring that communities have the resources, representation, and resilience to thrive. Our partners are working every day to create the most impact in their communities. #RootedInLove #PartnerStories #Impact

We are deeply committed to building resilient communities, and we’re proud to see the incredible progress made by Catholic Charities USA in part through our partnership. With our support, Catholic Charities successfully launched three Disaster Response Academies across the country, training and certifying 145 Disaster Case Managers. These dedicated professionals have already been deployed to assist communities impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, providing critical relief in North Carolina, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Florida. This work is a testament to the power of collaboration and preparedness in times of crisis. We are grateful for their leadership and look forward to continuing this important mission together. #RootedInLove #DisasterResponse #CommunityResilience

One of our disaster relief and resilience partners, World Relief, recently shared the following update with us. "For 80 years, World Relief has sought to respond to the world’s greatest needs in the US and abroad. What started as a small ministry of a single church in Boston has grown to include a myriad of stories from individuals, churches, partner organizations and even governments. Today, our story continues to be written by people like Tatyana Sigidina who, herself a former refugee from Ukraine, now mobilizes Slovik churches in Chicagoland to welcome and support Ukrainian refugees as they arrive in the U.S. It’s being written by teens like Sifa who, after seeing the positive impact World Relief Savings Groups had on her family in Rwanda, decided to start her own savings group for kids ages 6-11 so she and her friends could learn about savings and finance. Our story continues in the heart of every donor who gives, every volunteer who serves, and every program participant who celebrates growth and transformation. Today, we celebrate how a global network of passionate partners have been brought together to care for their neighbors in times of need — partners like St. Joseph Fund. We thank you for co-authoring this story of restoration and renewal for children, women, and men who have sought refuge and safety here in the United States. We are grateful to work with you to create communities that are more whole, more healed, and more able to flourish, hope, love, and grow." "One of the important aspects of our founders is the care of persons in body, mind, and spirit. By prioritizing support for personal renewal, we continue to uphold this vital aspect of our founding sponsors."
