Today, ST Engineering North America spread holiday cheer by contributing numerous gifts to The Salvation Army Angel Tree program. This initiative aligns perfectly with our Corporate Social Responsibility pillars, focused on improving lives through charitable gifts. The Angel Tree program is a cherished holiday assistance program dedicated to bringing joy to children in need. Our team at ST Engineering US HQ sponsored 15 Angel Trees, resulting in about 150 new toys, clothing, shoes and gift cards to make some children’s wishes come true this holiday season. Nerissa Tay, ST Engineering Sustainability Manager, said: "We’re excited to be able to partner with The Salvation Army to sponsor 15 Angels this holiday season as part of STENA’s efforts to improve lives through charitable gifts. I’m very touched that our colleagues at STENA HQ were not only kind enough to sponsor a child in need, but also to do so with such generosity and care. Mary Davis. A journey of 40 years at Miltope Meet Mary Charles Davis, an example of resilience and determination, who transformed her career and found a new sense of purpose at Miltope. From factory closure to flourishing in a new field, Mary's journey is a testament to the power of hard work and inclusivity. Read her story below. Mary Charles Davis' journey at Miltope began after a pivotal moment in her life. Following 13 years of dedication at the Shirt Factory, the factory faced an unexpected closure. Undeterred, Mary took a leap of faith and applied to Miltope's Troy facility, despite having no prior electronics or assembly experience. Through rigorous on-the-job training, she acquired a wealth of knowledge, navigating multiple departments and diverse projects. As an assembler, Mary's typical day involves meticulously following instructions to efficiently assemble products, maintain equipment, and troubleshoot issues. Her passion for learning shines through in her enthusiasm for new projects, from N-Maps to handheld devices. Mary's core values of fairness and hope resonate deeply, driving her to create an inclusive environment. Mary adds: “To me it means that individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives have equitable access to opportunities, feel genuinely valued, and can thrive without facing bias or barriers. It’s a culture where everyone’s unique contributions are respected, empowering innovation, understanding, and a stronger sense of community.” She derives immense satisfaction from witnessing her finished products leave the facility, symbolizing her growth and accomplishments. Mary says: “There is nothing I can’t do if I put my mind to and stay focus. I enjoy seeing my finish products leave the building.” Beyond her professional aspirations, Mary envisions a future filled with travel, family, and personal fulfillment. She aims to retire, explore the world, and watch her family flourish. Outside work, Mary unwinds to gospel music and cherishes time with loved ones. A hidden talent – singing when no one's listening – showcases her playful side. Post-40, Mary looks forward to embracing life's simple joys: attending grandkids' softball and volleyball games, traveling, and basking in the beauty of life's journey, empowered by her resilience, curiosity, and dedication to inclusivity and growth.
