November is recognized as National Hospice & Palliative Care Month ??. Palliative Care is a form of a specialized medical care that is delivered to patients with serious and severe illnesses. With this type of care, patients are provided with relief from the stresses and symptoms of their illness. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life, not only for the patient, but the family as well. Our caring St. Camillus Palliative Care Team includes physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who work with the patient and the primary care physician. The family is involved in this team to ensure the best decisions are made for your loved one.
This year's theme is "Palliative Care is for You", which is meant to convey that palliative care can provide a sense of stability and guidance for people with life-limiting Illnesses.
In order to promote awareness about Palliative Care as well raise funds to benefit the St. Camillus Palliative Care Rooms, we are raffling off a Self-Care Basket and a Buffalo Bills Quilt. The raffle is open to all - employees, residents, family members, visitors!
A HUGE thank you to the Elbridge Community Church Quilt Group for donating the Buffalo Bills Quilt. Please know what an incredible impact your generosity will have on those benefitting from our Palliative Care program.
