St. Bernards Medical Center’s Interventional Radiology Department recently completed its 300th Inari thrombectomy procedure, marking the highest number of cases in the region. Inari Medical's thrombectomy devices aid in removing blood clots, like pulmonary emboli and deep vein thrombosis. Congratulations to Drs. This week, we completed the first cases using the newly launched FARAVIEW Software and FARAWAVE NAV Catheter with @BSCCardiology’s FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation System. FARAVIEW brings real-time visualization of catheter positioning, shape, and lesion sites, allowing us to precisely track cumulative therapy delivery throughout each procedure. The FARAWAVE NAV catheter’s magnetic navigation also reduces the need for multiple devices, creating a streamlined workflow for treating AF patients. St. Bernards Healthcare announced the arrival of physicians Nathan Tripod, D.O. and Shelby Tripod, D.O., husband and wife family medicine specialists practicing at St. Bernards First Care in Jonesboro. Both physicians are native Arkansans, earning their doctor of osteopathic medicine degrees from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University in 2020. The Aurora EV-ICD system from Medtronic is a first-of-its-kind defibrillator with the lead placed under the breastbone, outside of the heart and veins. It delivers lifesaving defibrillation and anti-tachycardia pacing (ATP) therapy all in one system via a single implanted device that is similar in size, shape, and projected longevity to traditional, transvenous ICDs.

St. Bernards Medical Center has earned Arkansas’ first “Pediatric Ready” status for emergency care provided at non-pediatric hospitals, achieving “Gold Tier Recognition” from the Arkansas Department of Health. Eight out of ten children come to a generic emergency department instead of a specialized, pediatric emergency department to receive care. With the closest pediatric hospitals being 1-2 hours away, it was important to our team to train every staff member in the specialized care pediatric patients need. In addition to advanced training, our emergency department team has improved the pediatric patient experience by including transport wagons and medical procedure demonstrations whenever possible. Thank you to our emergency department team members for your hard work to make our emergency department the gold standard in pediatric care!
