Recently, a mom was so grateful to St. Mary's Family Birth Center and NICU for saving the life of her newborn son that she made a special trip back to the hospital to say 'thank you' with custom-made t-shirts! We love our FBC and NICU colleagues and physicians! We are grateful to them for their skill and caring. Congratulations to Daniel Lawson, a Chaplain with St. Mary’s Spiritual Care Department, on receiving our November Spirit of Mercy Award. Daniel joined St. Mary’s in 2022 and consistently demonstrates our Core Values in everything he does. Highlights from his nomination include how thoughtful, dedicated, empathetic and attentive he is to everyone he serves within our ministry, as a church leader and as a foster parent. He uses his gifts of empathy and connection to build compassionate relationships with people throughout the health system. Congratulations to Jeremy Jackson, security officer at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital, on receiving our systemwide October Spirit of Mercy Award! Jeremy joined our ministry in 2021 and demonstrates our Mission and Core Values every day at work and in the community. A few highlights from his nomination include his compassion for those who come to our hospital with mental health emergencies, his calm professionalism and ability to deescalate tense situations, and his commitment to community service, including serving as a children’s basketball coach and recently raising enough donations to provide 150 children in need with bookbags and school supplies.
