关于我们
SSE Renewables is a leading developer and operator of renewable energy generation, headquartered in the UK and Ireland, with a growing presence internationally. Part of the FTSE-listed SSE plc, we're taking action as part of SSE's Net Zero Acceleration Programme (NZAP) to increase our installed renewable energy capacity to 9GW by 2027, and over 16GW by 2032. We have an operational portfolio of around 4.5GW of installed onshore wind, offshore wind and hydro generation capacity, with a secured future project pipeline of almost 15GW in development. We're also pursuing a further pipeline of over 13GW of additional prospective sites under development. Our operational portfolio comprises nearly 2GW of onshore wind capacity, more than 1GW of offshore wind capacity, and almost 1.5GW of flexible hydro power and pumped storage capacity. These generation assets produce around 10TWh of renewable power each year. We know offshore wind will be the backbone of a net zero power system so we are building the world's largest offshore wind farm, the 3.6GW Dogger Bank project in the North Sea and, in October 2023, we completed the world's deepest fixed-bottom offshore wind farm, the 1.1GW Seagreen project off the Scottish coast. We're a team of around 1,800 renewable energy professionals based across the UK and Ireland, Continental Europe, and Japan, all committed to delivering the green energy the world needs now and in the future. We've honed our skills through over 15 years of delivering world-leading projects with expertise in project design and optimisation, consenting and stakeholder engagement, financing, procurement, construction, and operations.

Our Offshore team had an enjoyable and engaging morning at South East Technological University 's Carlow Campus for a career fair coordinated by Engineering the South East It was wonderful to meet so many engineering students who are interested in pursuing a career in renewable energy and offshore wind, and to share our work on the Arklow Bank Wind Park 2 project. Some of our new SSE graduates were on hand to share their own experiences and advice to third level students. #offshorewind #renewableenergy #arklowbankwindpark2

We launched our public consultation for the up to 60MW Tattymoyle Wind Farm recently. Our consultation kicked off with two in-person events in Fivemileston and Omagh in Co Tyrone where we met with members of the local community. ?? It was great to hear their views as we continue to shape our proposals. The feedback and local knowledge will help us identify challenges and potential benefits for the local community. Tattymoyle Wind Farm will be our first new project in Northern Ireland in a number of years and we’re excited to be developing in this key market once again. A second round of consultation will be held in Fintona early next year. ?? ? All of the information can also be accessed online until Friday 6 December?via the link on our project webpage. ? ?? https://lnkd.in/eSswkfWn

Mark Ennis, Chairman for SSE plc Ireland, spoke to The Irish News about the draft Programme for Government (PfG). He’s called for a standalone climate priority to be included in the final PfG as there wasn’t not enough focus on concrete actions needed to address the urgency of the climate crisis, and Northern Ireland’s #renewableenergy potential. ? Berwick Bank Wind farm would be one of the largest offshore renewable energy developments in the world. ?? If delivered to its full capacity, the project could see over £8 billion invested in the UK economy and potentially over 9,000 jobs created during peak construction. ?? The project recently took a major step forward after Northumberland County Council granted outline planning permission for the project’s onshore transmission infrastructure and second grid connection. The project secured its first connection point at Branxton in East Lothian in December 2023. ?? The proposed 4.1GW wind farm would be?located 39 kilometres off the East Lothian coast in Scotland. ?????????????? The project is awaiting approval of a Section 36 application by Scottish Government ministers for the offshore aspects of the project. If consented for delivery, the project could enter the next round of the UK’s renewable energy auctions, Allocation Round 7 (AR7), having already missed out on the last. Hear for those that were involved in the project’s onshore planning consent below. ??

Last week we attended Wind Energy Ireland’s Trade Show at the RDS in Dublin. The two-day event was filled with various discussions about the renewable energy opportunities Ireland offers to investors and #supplychain. Speaking as part of the developers panel, Cora Plant, our Senior Portfolio Manager spoke about our renewable energy pipeline across offshore and onshore wind, solar & battery, and future opportunities for the supply chain to engage.

We have taken a final investment decision to proceed with our first onshore wind farm projects in Italy, marking yet another milestone in our continued expansion in Continental Europe ?? Construction work is expected to begin in the coming weeks on the Castel Favorito and Masseria la Cattiva wind farm sites in Puglia, Southern Italy. Siemens Gamesa has been selected to supply and install five SG 3.4-132 MW turbines across the project sites. We are targeting completion and reaching commercial operation in 2026. This week is #GreenCareersWeek which is an exciting opportunity to highlight careers, roles and pathways that will make a difference to the planet. ?? Ricky H., our Construction Site Supervisor at our Ferrybridge battery energy storage system (BESS) site, made the career progression from a high-carbon role into a green role. He started out as Thermal Insulation Engineer which involved him carrying out an apprenticeship at the old coal-fired Ferrybridge Power Station. Ricky has used the skills picked up in his old high-carbon roles and used them within his existing role in the #renewables industry. ?? His role is contributing towards fighting climate change, hear what he had to say in the video below. ??

Our 4.1GW proposed Berwick Bank Wind Farm took a step forward after Northumberland County Council granted outline planning permission for the project’s onshore transmission infrastructure and grid connection. ?? The wind farm would be located in the Outer Firth of Forth and will plug in a large proportion of its capacity at Cambois near Blyth to deliver #cleanenergy to millions of UK homes and businesses. ?? The project is now awaiting approval of a Section 36 application by Scottish Government ministers for the offshore aspects of the project. If granted and fully delivered the project would increase Scotland’s overall #renewableenergy capacity in operation today by nearly 30% and be capable of generating enough electricity to power more than 6 million homes annually. ? Read more about why Berwick Bank is vital to UK and Scottish Government 2030 targets below. ?? https://lnkd.in/e4k5VzFK
