The Historical hearing on the placement of the two most important research tool compounds for 5HT2 receptors, DOI and DOC is a wrap. Working with this brilliant team of scientists and attorneys as Chair of the Science Policy Committee for Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) has been the honor of a lifetime. I've learned an enormous number of skills and insights that'll carry me through the rest of my life: legal filings, legal analysis and research, policy analysis, courtroom dynamics, and how to successfully go from Proposed Rulemaking to Administrative Hearing. Students for Sensible Drug Policy is the home for all students looking to get involved with policy reform from the local to the national levels, and empowering them every step of the way. The whole process took an extraordinary amount of work from everyone and I couldn't have imagined a better, more cohesive and supportive team to work with.

Had the honor to join the Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) legal team as they finished their presentation of evidence in their hearing battling the DEA’s attempt to schedule the research chemicals DOC and DOI!All that’s left is closing arguments tomorrow morning and @brettjphelps is leading the charge. Big ups to Elijah Ullman, PhD Alaina Jaster for the amazing work by the SSDP research team. So many amazing SSDP students and alumni have come through like Tanner Anderson, Callie Hoffmann, J.D. Kat Murti Jack Gorsline It was WILD to see Brett Phelps actually up there cross examining the DEA on how the controlled substance act is absolutely not based in any scientific evidence whatsoever. It was a real treat to watch as the discussion around cannabis rescheduling picks up. Forever proof of my SSDP fam. This was yet another historically impactful action we’ve manifested, and it’s eternally rejuvenating to see brilliant people from diverse backgrounds come together time and again to fight for what we believe in. ??????
