Every space has a story, and The Sovren is no exception. As interior designers, we don’t just create visually appealing spaces; we ensure every element aligns with function, comfort, and a deep sense of connection. From its early vision to the final touches, The Sovren’s design journey was one of collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability. While the core concept remained intact, thoughtful adjustments along the way helped elevate the final outcome. Key Design Elements: ? Seamless Community Connection – Direct metro access and communal amenity spaces foster engagement and belonging. ? Nature-Inspired Interiors – Warm millwork, earthy palettes, and biophilic elements enhance tranquility. ? Dynamic Furnishings – Bold colors, textures, and unique pieces define spaces that encourage interaction and relaxation. Design Challenges & Solutions: ?? Unit Entry Adjustments – Custom detailing to accommodate structural variations while maintaining the intended bold corridor aesthetic. ?? Restroom Backsplash Redesign – Supply chain delays led to an innovative waterproof mural solution, adding unexpected vibrancy and durability. At SR/A, we take pride in crafting spaces that reflect community, function, and beauty. Sovren is a testament to thoughtful design and teamwork, proving that even small adjustments can make a big impact. ?? Want to learn more about our approach to multifamily design? Let’s talk! ?? ?? This sets a new standard for designing spaces that embrace cognitive diversity and adaptability! From workplaces to multifamily housing and senior living, thoughtful design for sensory stimulation and inclusion creates environments where everyone can thrive. Thank you, Kay Sargent, for starting this important conversation. We can’t wait to see how your book inspires the future of neuroinclusive design! ?? #NeuroinclusiveDesign #AccessibleSpaces #ThoughtfulDesign #SRADesign #CommunityImpact
In 2016, a client asked me a pivotal question: “How do you design space for someone with ADHD?” As a mother of five children with diverse cognitive profiles, and a designer who has designed a wide variety of spaces, I had an OK answer, but was intrigued and wanted to know more. I realized I had been living my own case study. Kevin’s unconventional thinking, Kyle’s linear processing, and Eric’s journey with ADHD have taught me firsthand how spaces shape experiences for neurodivergent individuals, and neurotypicals as well. ? Yet, when I began researching, I found a significant gap—there was little guidance on how to design workplaces that truly support cognitive diversity and enable diverse neurotypes to thrive.? ? With HOK, we set out to change that. My upcoming book, Designing Neuroinclusive Workplaces, is the culmination of this journey—grounded in evidence, empathy, and personal experience. Together, let’s create spaces where everyone can thrive. ?? Learn more at inclusiveworkplace.design #HOKNeuroinclusiveDesign #FutureOfWork #HOK

At SR/A, we believe in the power of renderings to bring ideas to life. Whether it's multifamily, office renovation, or senior living, a great rendering is an essential tool. Here's why! ?? Rendering captures a project's vibe, potential, and impact, helping clients and investors picture the end result. ? But here's the magic: As much as we love an inspiring rendering, nothing compares to seeing the finished project come to life. The real thing often surpasses the vision, with details, textures, and light bringing the space to its fullest potential. Take a look at The Sovren by Gilbane Development Company! Seeing the rendering and the final look side by side, what catches your eye? Interested in seeing your vision become a reality? ??
