#repost ?from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University Division of Biology and Medicine's February Newsletter: A Day in the Life "On February 7, the Office of Belonging, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (OBEDI) sponsored a visit to The Warren Alpert Medical School for Squashbusters, collaborating with second-year medical students and Squashbuster volunteer Ali Khan.?Squashbusters?is a non-profit organization dedicated to introducing the sport of squash to young people in urban public schools. The program serves as a bridge to college success, expands access to opportunities, and promotes health and fitness among youth. Here in Providence, Squashbusters partners with students from high schools such as Central High School, Hope High School, Juanita Sanchez, and Davies. During the tour, students received a firsthand experience of health care professional schools, engaging with current medical students, participating in case studies, and exploring the clinical suites. The objective of the visit was to deepen their understanding of the medical field and spark potential career interests in health care. Medical students Sarah Willwerth, Courtney Bowen, and Julia Gillette served as tour guides and mentors throughout the event." SQB is fortunate to have such great community partners who introduce our students to a diverse range of career pathways!
