Last month, key partners came together to advance the vision for what will become a game-changing opportunity for students in Queens. The Queens STEAM Center is moving forward, bringing together industry leaders, educators, and public sector partners to create a school modeled after the Brooklyn STEAM Center that will provide hands-on, industry-informed learning experiences that prepare students for careers in aviation, technology, and beyond. Over the past several months, we’ve worked to assess potential locations near JFK Airport, secure capital commitments, and expand our base of support. We’re excited to have growing support from industry leaders and public sector partners, including New York City Public Schools, the Partnership for New York City, Resorts World, World Wide Technology, the Port Authority of NY & NJ, the UFT, the CSA, and others. Together, we're building the foundation for a program that connects students to high-growth industries while aligning with JFK Redevelopment's mission to drive local job training and economic mobility to residents of southeast Queens.
