I remember the extreme guilt and shame I felt when I couldn't produce enough breastmilk for my little guy. He was already a lean little dude (yet another reason I felt mom guilt) -- and it was very evident that some moms produced more milk than their freezer could handle, while I breastfed at every opportunity, pumped in between, stayed hydrated, tried to minimize stress, and took the supplements. Still, I couldn't produce enough. I needed the help of formula. And I had to remind myself -- that is more than ok. This was perfect for us. There's research. There's science-based recommendations.
