Join the SPWLA Formation Testing SIG for the February webinar: "Array Formation Testing with Multiple Azimuthal and Axial Pressure Transducers – Part 1", presented by Wilson C. Chin, Ph.D. DATE:?Wednesday, February 19th TIME:??8:00 - 9:00 am CST?(Houston Time) LOCATION: Online - register on the SPWLA Website ABSTRACT:?Early single and dual probe tools are reviewed, and new interpretation models for kh and kv anisotropy are offered.?Modern multiprobe tools, for example Schlumberger’s Saturn and ORA, and China Oilfield Services’ “triple probe” instrument, are redefining traditional logging.?We will describe key methods, for example, coupled pressure and contamination (supercharge) analysis; azimuthal probe placement and operation for anisotropy and heterogeneity mapping; inverse procedures for 3D kh and kv permeability prediction; and differences between liquid and gas fluid monitoring. Multiprobe designs offered by the leading service companies are compared using advanced software models that assist operators in selecting tools consistent with their logging and economic objectives. https://lnkd.in/gdyzZ6Dw
