(Sprout) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides educational resources to historically disadvantaged students. The organization is led by a Board of Directors that includes Brown University medical students and a core of young professionals. Sprout’s mission is to improve academic performance, stimulate an interest in science and math, and inspire the pursuit of professional success. In 2019, the organization was launched in response to a review of the Providence Public School District by the Johns Hopkins School of Education, which indicated that students are in dire need of additional support. To address this need, Sprout has connected college students with local schools to provide tutoring and mentorship.

Job Description Sprout and S.T.E.M. is seeking four part-time Tutoring Coordinators to deliver pre-algebra and geometry lessons at Nathanael Greene Middle School (721 Chalkstone Ave, Providence) and an SAT prep course at a high school located in Providence. The positions run for the duration of the organization's interactive learning program from?Fall 2024 through Spring 2025. Sessions are hosted twice-weekly, most likely on Mondays and Tuesdays or Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:15 to 5:00 PM, excluding federal holidays and school vacations. The estimated weekly commitment is 6 hours: 4 hours of tutoring and 2 total hours of preparation, outreach, and/or travel. The position pays $22 per hour. As the Tutoring Coordinator, you would collaborate with a team of tutors to deliver a learning program in mathematics. All curriculum has been pre-designed and would be implemented under your supervision.

Radimer Memorial Scholarship, which awards $10,000 toward the college tuition of a graduating high school senior! As an eligibility requirement, this student must be enrolled in a public school and have overcome significant barriers in their pursuit of higher education.
