Teacher Externs from July reconvened to dive deeper into workforce trends and career pathways for their students. Armed with new insights, they are eager to bridge the gap between local businesses and their classrooms as they prepare students for the workforce. The Externs experienced sessions including: ? A panel about career opportunities in the public sector with City of Springfield, Missouri, Springfield Fire department, City of Springfield Public Works and Springfield Police Department. ? An employer perspective panel on the challenges and benefits of younger generations entering the workforce with Pearson-Kelly Technology, Central Bank and Branco Enterprises, Inc. ? Heard from Ozarks Technical Community College Director of Innovative Career & Technical Education Programs, Cindy Stephens. ? Toured Mercy and Gold Mechanical facilities to experience firsthand the opportunities they offer for the future workforce.
