??Woodhaven High School has won the 2024 Silver Facility of the Year Award in the Multi-Field Facility category. GMB collaborated with the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District (WBSD) to develop a top-notch baseball and softball facility to support the growing athletic programs. To prevent game cancellations due to poor weather conditions, turf fields were constructed for early-season use, along with a multipurpose field to alleviate pressure on existing grass fields. ? ??The Hudsonville High School Fieldhouse has been awarded the 2024 Outstanding Facility of the Year in the Indoor Sports Surfaces Multipurpose/Field House category. Accommodating over 3,600 people, it features a four full-size court arena, a 1/9-mile upper track, bleacher seating, wrestling space, and a two-story fitness area with advanced lighting. Additional facilities include a dedicated wrestling area, team storage, and a garage door connection to the upper cardio area, making it one of the largest high school complexes in the state. ? If we look at the dictionary, sustainability has multiple definitions. Everywhere you look, there is pressure to follow the three Rs of recycle, reuse, and reduce. But once you have added recycling bins around the school (including in and around sports facilities), what else is there to do, particularly when it comes to sports facilities? Quite a bit, as it turns out. The concept, as it pertains to outdoor sports, and in particular to fields, includes a few key elements.
