Our mission is to enrich and optimize the decision-making process for sports teams, sportsbooks, and sports fans.
关于我们
At SIS, we’re proud to be leaders in collecting, analyzing and distributing the deepest data sets and insights to professional sports teams across MLB, NBA and NFL, while also partnering extensively with the leagues themselves. Our mission is to enrich and optimize the decision-making process for sports teams, sportsbooks, and sports fans. Our vision is to create an unparalleled platform of sporting data and insights through best-in-class technology, products, and partnerships. Our versatility, subject matter expertise, and desire to enhance our partner’s performance is at the core of what we do. As we enter the next chapter of our trajectory, we are keen to put our data and newfound products to use to improve the sports fan experience, while being a critical part of the supply chain. Our existing database offers unparalleled detail and is updated daily, not just for the 3 professional sports listed, but at the collegiate, international and minor league levels as well. We are also moving further into the real-time data space (for the above noted sports) and into new sports/leagues. A key differentiator for us relative to competition is our flexibility and ability to customize feeds, data points, etc based on specific needs of partners. Company chairman John Dewan founded the company with a group of partners in 2003. John has been a pioneer in sports statistics for more than 40 years and was the founder of STATS Inc. In April of 2021, Audeo Capital announced a significant investment into SIS. Shortly thereafter, a new CEO (Dan Hannigan-Daley) and VP of Product/Engineering (Will Hester) joined the organization following years of success at DraftKings.

Congratulations to the SIS All-Star for February, our injury analyst Brett Barnes. Brett is a rising star in our company. His job is to review and maintain the SIS Injury Database, which covers the baseball and football leagues scored by the company. He started as a Baseball Video Scout here in 2021. ? Brett's supervisor, John Verros, said he's impressed with Brett's growth mindset, positive approach to the job, and his ability to work well within stressful situations. He's the ideal employee to work and talk with on a daily basis. Congratulations Brett!

To commemorate Black History Month, on February 20, the SIS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee hosted a discussion of the movie, The Six Triple Eight, which meeting attendees watched on Netflix. The movie tells the story of the only Black Women's Army Corps unit stationed overseas and its members and leaders. The Corps took on the role of mail sorting, ensuring that millions of pieces of mail were delivered to troops overseas and their families at home. This was a massive project and their were many obstacles in the way of success, but the Corps succeeded in completing the task ahead of schedule. Our discussion group talked about the work the Corps unit did, how accurately the movie conveyed what happened, and the examples of leadership shown by Corps leader Charity Adams. Our DE&I Committee regularly hosts interactive talks and guest speakers as a means of educating and encouraging discussion among our employees

When we say that we try to measure everything that happens in a game, we mean EVERYTHING. That means not just the players but those who officiate games. With baseball, we have a tool that generates reports on tendencies in how umpires call pitches that TV networks use in their game broadcasts. With football, it means looking at the referees and the officiating crews to see if crews call more/fewer penalties of certain types than their peers. That's a pertinent story the last 2 weeks as some of the talk around the Super Bowl (#SuperBowl) was on whether the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes were getting favorable treatment from officials. So Bryce Rossler looked into it. Check out the article link in the comments to see what he found.

When the Chiefs and Eagles meet up in the Super Bowl on Sunday, it will be a matchup that includes one of the league's best defensive players and the league's best defensive team. Our operations staff tracks almost everything that happens on every play of every game. Our R&D team develops stats like Total Points one to allow decision-makers (and fans) to make the best possible evaluations of players and groups of players. You can learn more about Total Points by reading the primer at this link https://lnkd.in/eBv-55Qh #footballanalytics #NFLanalytics #SuperBowl #PhiladelphiaEagles #KansasCityChiefs

SIS meetup at the Senior Bowl this past weekend as operations hiring associate (hiring manager) Chasity Douyon connected with one of the standouts from our Live Scout program Christian Wisk. Said Christian: "Attending my first Senior Bowl was an incredible experience. It gave me firsthand exposure to top NFL prospects and the scouting process at an elite level. It was great to see the behind-the-scenes of the Senior Bowl, evaluate talent in live drills, and network with professionals across the industry."

With Super Bowl LIX looming, today felt like a good day to salute our Football Research and Development team of Alex Vigderman, Bryce Rossler, and James Weaver. The R&D team has a variety of responsibilities: One is developing our statistics by which we evaluate players. Our primary player value stat, Total Points, is frequently refined to better incorporate the data tracking done by our football operations team. Our crew also does the backend work on products that put the Video Scout data tracking to use. Another thing the R&D team does is work on specialized projects. Our NFL team clients purchase both pre-set data and customized offerings based on their informational needs. Our team combines football and technical knowledge to build out those solutions. Lastly, our R&D team also does research, which can be found in the articles on the Sports Info Solutions company website. They look at topics that might interest them, like how long quarterbacks take to return to form after injury or whether offensive line continuity drives better performance. There's one other person to shout out on our Football R&D team - its founder, Matt Manocherian, is now our Chief Operating Officer. We're proud of the work of our football R&D team and look forward to sharing more work they create in the future.
