Introducing The Lilac Ladies: another of the FOUR local teams (!!) participating in the 2025 Air Race Classic, Inc. we’re proud to spotlight. Teammates Anne and Melinda love flying adventures and have flown through Africa, Australia and Alaska. Join us in cheering the team on as they gear up for their next big quest, racing 2,000+ miles from Fairhope, Alabama to Spokane this June!

Meet the Idaho Skies, the second local 2025 Air Race Classic team we’ll be cheering on this summer. LaDonna, the team’s pilot-in-command, is based in Coeur d’Alene. She took her first flying lesson at age 47 and was immediately hooked! Shortly after earning her certification, she purchased a Cessna 172 (named Gladys) from a family friend and mentor, which the team will be flying in the race. Lisa, an avid flyer based in Hope, Idaho will serve as the team’s co-pilot as the duo races more than 2,000 miles from Fairhope, Alabama to Spokane!

Meet the Felts Field Sky Queens: one of three local Inland Northwest teams that will be competing in the 2025 Air Race Classic (the world's largest all-women transcontinental air race) this June. ???? Sarah (left) is a corporate pilot based at San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. She’s earned multiple ratings (including a float and Dassault Falcon 50 type ratings) and loves backcountry flying across the Inland Northwest. Rachel (right) is a full-time flight instructor, aviation enthusiast and lover of creative teaching. Her ultimate goal is to combine her love for helping others with flying and is passionate about breaking barriers in aviation. Both are board members of the Washington Pilots Association - Spokane Chapter and will be competing in a Piper Cherokee 235. Our team can't wait to cheer Sarah, Rachel and the other Spokane-Coeur d'Alene area teams on as they race from Fairhope, Alabama to Spokane!

Frontier Airlines announced it's returning to Spokane to offer passengers year-round nonstop service to Denver International Airport beginning May 20, 2025. Flights will operate 3x/week. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ganWeziA
