Exciting Times for Space Exploration ?????? The first GNSS receiver is on the moon! The Lunar GNSS Receiver Experiment (LuGRE) is a joint effort between NASA and the Italian Space Agency to demonstrate the viability of using existing GNSS signals for positioning, navigation, and timing on the Moon. This is a huge leap forward in lunar navigation and paves the way for future missions. Honoring Dr. Gladys West: A Hidden Figure Who Shaped the Future of GPS ??? As we celebrate Black History Month, we honor the trailblazers whose contributions have shaped our world. One such pioneer is Dr. Gladys West, a mathematician whose work was foundational to the development of GPS. Spirent Federal Advisor, retired General David "DT" Thompson—pictured below with Dr. West—reflected on her impact: "In 2018, I was honored to induct Dr. West into the Space and Missile Pioneers Hall of Fame. She is the Air and Space Forces' 'Hidden Figure,' and as someone who overcame tremendous obstacles, an inspiration and exemplar for anyone who aspires to achieve great things." Last week, we celebrated our 2024 accomplishments and set ambitious goals for the year ahead with an inspiring and enlightening 2025 kick-off meeting in the UK. Our strategy meetings centered on how we can elevate our impact as consultative partners, helping our customers meet and exceed their need for resilient PNT under any conditions. And, of course, we made time for some team-building adventures!?
