Forgn Studio had the incredible pleasure of hosting a presentation by Web3 expert, developer, and artist Travis Rice on the future of creative idea funding in 2025. This event was organized by H Town DAO, with assistance from build_houston, both dedicated to fostering innovation at the intersection of Web3 and creative industries. The presentation, led by Travis Rice, founding member of W3BBIE & Public Goods Club, explored how Web3 technologies are transforming the way creative projects are financed. He broke down trends in the crypto space and highlighted decentralized platforms, blockchain-based crowdfunding, and innovative tools that empower creators. One of the most exciting moments of the event was when Travis launched a token live on Pump.fun for all attendees to witness. He then time-locked the developer tokens, setting them to unlock at a later time, showcasing a real-world example of tokenomics and trust mechanisms in Web3. The room was fully engaged as the launch unfolded in real time, providing an interactive demonstration of how on-chain tools can be used for creative funding. Correct me if I'm completely off base!!! But DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) aren’t truly "autonomous" in the sense of being self-sufficient AI entities. Instead, they achieve autonomy by structuring incentives that motivate human participants to complete necessary tasks. Here’s how: 1. Smart Contracts Set the Rules – DAOs use blockchain-based smart contracts to enforce governance and financial operations. These rules ensure tasks get executed automatically if the right conditions are met. 2. Token-Based Incentives – Participation is driven by token rewards or voting power. People act in the DAO’s interest not out of altruism but because the system makes it profitable to do so. 3. Decentralized Decision-Making – Governance mechanisms ensure collective human action keeps the DAO running, whether it's approving proposals, funding projects, or maintaining infrastructure. 4. Crowdsourced Execution – Unlike traditional organizations with salaried employees, DAOs rely on a distributed network of contributors who are incentivized to perform tasks (e.g., curating content, approving transactions, or developing code).
