What does it take to make the top-performing ad for a partner? Of course, it's lots of planning, location scouting, script writing, editorial and motion design. What's rarely talked about is TRUST. Trust is that two-way street that allows creative to grow and improve, while all parties are working towards the same goal. Therefore, no list of 2024 favorites would be complete without the project that let us close down a bar and throw a sports party! Sports Fan TV from Spectrum Business let us do just that. At Spillt we love sports and have produced oodles of projects. Not to mention our personal expertise of, ahem, watching football in a sports bar. Even better, because of the longstanding relationship, our partners at Spectrum Business were super gung-ho about our plan to shoot bespoke lifestyle footage for this campaign and other Spectrum Business objectives. We were able to pack in several setups featuring the Spectrum technology that went well beyond sports. But, the most significant measuring stick was their effectiveness at bringing in new customers. When the team at Common Good Agency called us on behalf of Hint Inc. looking for help on their newest campaign, we knew we were going to flex one of our biggest superpowers – the ability to approach a campaign from all angles, combining live-action with VFX compositing, 2D character animation, or photorealistic 3D rendering. What started as a straightforward ask to animate screen inserts on a handful of VFX shots quickly turned into the team at SPILLT being asked to storyboard, animate, and render a bevy of product spots that ranged from hand-animated characters to abstract VFX moments to photoreal product spots that bounced, bumped, and bopped to the beat. We loved the opportunity to break out our pencils and fire up our render engines to set the stage full of all-new characters for the Hint Water brand – helping catch audiences attention and keep their eyes on the prize with the goal of catching as many clicks as possible. Each new spot allowed Spillt to build upon the Hint Water motion identity, adding up to a multi-faceted campaign that was fun, curious, and more than a little playful in making sure the audience was Getting The Hint! #MotionDesign #MotionIdentity #Spillt

We love a challenge at SPILLT and one of the biggest we take on every year is our collaboration with COX Automotive and their Ideabar team for the annual NADA Conference. 2024 was no exception, with more screens, newly refreshed unified branding across their portfolio of brands, and a request to go bolder than ever before. To do so, our team led the charge in creating a unified motion system synchronized across 20 unique screens and an LED lighting system that drove audiences' attention with 100+ deliverables. A request for that many elements could make anyone's head spin, but our experience in creating toolkit-driven deliverables and run-of-shows that can be adjusted up to delivery day on-site, allowed us to be fast and flexible while elevating the entire experience to a new level. We built our Motion System into templates and toolkits that allowed us to deploy new assets on-site if new messaging opportunities arose rapidly. And when one of the largest surfaces on the entire Las Vegas strip became available the day of the show, the Resorts World Screens, we were able to craft assets and broadcast to the Strip on the same day. We're so proud of the opportunity we get to partner with COX Automotive at their biggest, most high-stakes event of the year—when you're taking over 200 client meetings in a handful of days, we love knowing we help our clients look their best! Following our best of the best in '24 was a campaign with SmartyPants Vitamins and Honeymoon, LLC. Certain projects scratch the creative itch in unique ways, and our partnership on the "Smart Move, Smarty Pants" campaign perfectly embodies our Seize the Play? rallying cry. The detail that makes this one of our favorite recent projects was spending a day on set with some genuinely dynamic kiddos. Some people "fear" working with kids in a production setting, but we reveled in the playtime, and their performances shine! Of course, great collaboration means being open to ideas and exploration from all directions. This mentality gives life to the best outcomes, which was on full display. From the fantastic musical score by Coupe Studios Music + Sound Design to super-sizing the gummy, and bringing life to Athena the owl, it was a total team effort. Receiving the performance data was the final cherry on top, and to say the campaign crushed it is an understatement. We can't wait for the next one! Process makes perfection! Our #4 from last year was crafting a campaign for Bitly after their brand refresh. We love it when the excitement for "the process" comes bursting through a presentation ZOOM calls, and from our very first pitch to the last looks at the final spot, we could feel that enthusiastic buzz coming from our friends at Bitly. This collaboration began on the shoulders of a newly minted identity refresh that SPILLT was eager to bring to life. We often say a brand isn't truly alive until it moves, so this kind of assignment gets us fired up! Our highlight was helping to establish the motion system for how type, the human element, and the connection thread would "dance" together to tell a story of interactive simplicity. The final recipe is a pop-art, engaging introduction to the formidable suite of tools, and a strong roadmap for a brand ready to make it all connect. Following up on #3 on our list of the best of 2024 is the Emmy's Working on the Emmy's show is like a gift that keeps giving. First and foremost, awards shows like this are fun to work on because they are celebratory events. Who doesn't love that?! Beyond that, this relationship has become one of our favorites because we've had four years to cultivate a rapport that is second to none with Adam Sharp. He is meticulous and constantly challenges the status quo, which we cherish at SPILLT. At the heart of it, when you have a multi-year partnership, the work benefits from the nuances you learn along the way. To say things have evolved over the years is an understatement, and the event has grown in the process. Part two of our top projects of 2024 came in the form of a vague email. The email says, "Hey, we'd love your help on a special story we're cooking up." At first, that seems like a fairly innocuous request, but then the nature of that "special story" is revealed, and it is the 40th-anniversary special on the making of the most significant pieces of musical art of all time... Thriller! Without exaggeration, Thriller is a seminal chapter in the culture of humankind. It turned Michael Jackson from a pop entertainer to a legendary icon, broke barriers between musical genres, and defined an entire decade. It was big- bigger than big. So, is it any wonder being asked to contribute even a tiny piece to such a transcendent story would rank amongst our favorite recent projects? Our title sequence told a story of the journey of capturing divine inspiration from the microphone, through the studio apparatus onto master tapes and etching it forever in the wax of a record. Our intensely stylized homage to Michael's sparkling glove was designed to whet the palette of a deep dive into the process of making this album.

When @GreenThumbIndustries needed a bold launch for SOLVENTLESS, they turned to SPILLT to bring their premium brand story to life. This high-profile project combined live-action, CG, VFX beauty, and a custom score—pushing creative boundaries to craft a truly elevated visual and audible experience. The hero moment? A stunning in-camera ice block that almost didn’t happen. With clarity challenges during R&D, we came close to pivoting to CG-only. But thanks to the trust of our partners at RYTHM, we powered through—and delivered a show-stopping solution that matches the luxury of the product itself.
