Last February, we officially launched Mechanical Orchard with a mission to reinvent the software that runs the world. In a short space of time, we've seen how much this need has grown. Today, we're announcing our Series B funding, led by GV (Google Ventures), which we believe validates this considerable market opportunity. I'm very excited to be working with Crystal Huang, Michael McBride, and the entire GV team, and grateful to our existing investors and customers who got us to this point.
At Mechanical Orchard, our focus is on the “how” of modernizing critical legacy systems: safely, reliably, fearlessly. The past few years have seen an explosion of examples highlighting the brittleness of important, crucial systems as they’ve aged. What an unbelievably epic journey to Everest Base Camp???. An adventure like no other, filled with challenges, breathtaking views, and unforgettable experiences. Before embarking on this journey, I put in some serious work with hard workouts, knowing the climb ahead would demand every ounce of strength and stamina. Now, onto the climb itself. First off, the altitude is something else. Standing at around 5400 meters, it's a real test of your endurance and resilience. Those days of trekking uphill were no joke. It was freezing up there with food options about as limited as the oxygen supply. While it was tough, every step brought us closer to our goal. I have to say, the people of Nepali were amazing - their warmth, friendliness, and willingness to help made our journey unforgettable. But none of this would've been possible without the unwavering dedication of the incredible team. I want to take a moment to express my immense gratitude, first and foremost, to Neal Goldman – the man who invited me on this epic adventure. Thank you for this opportunity of a lifetime. From the moment we set foot on this expedition, we were in it together, supporting each other every step of the way. To our amazing organizer and guide Oliver Browne at True Summit Adventures, none of this would've been possible without his planning, commitment to safety, and wealth of knowledge.
