Representing both Chicago, IL, and Melbourne, FL, Kai has built an impressive performance résumé at a young age. With recent accomplishments like winning the 2024 St. Paul String Quartet Competition (including the BIPOC round and audience choice awards), being a finalist in the Sejong Competition, and earning recognition in numerous prestigious events, Kai embodies excellence and dedication to the art of music. ???????? Clayton’s love for music shines through his joyous charisma onstage and natural ease at the instrument. A New York City native, he credits community programs like Third Street Music School Settlement and The Juilliard School’s Pre-College program for his musical foundation. ?? ? We’re thrilled to announce that Cesar Palacio has been appointed as the 3rd and Bass Clarinet for the Louisville Orchestra! ??? Reflecting on his journey, Cesar shares: “Taking orchestra auditions is not only an arduous process, but an expensive one at that, and I am immensely grateful to Sphinx and NAAS for their unwavering financial support of my audition activities over the last few years. I certainly would not be where I am today were it not for their generosity, patience, and steadfast belief in me and my abilities as an artist.” ?? Cesar, an American clarinetist of Colombian and Peruvian descent from Dallas, Texas, has previously performed with renowned ensembles, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and New World Symphony.
