The Taylor Beach House in Malibu— originally designed by Jerrold E. Lomax, FAIA— is a case study in modernism. Our renovation stayed true to its minimal spirit, but left room to bring the house up to current luxuries. Hopefully, it remains to tell its story for the next 100 years and beyond. We're excited to share our work on the Morgan Phoa Library & Residence—a project that seamlessly blends history with contemporary design. Our team had the privilege of restoring and expanding a historically significant Los Feliz home, originally designed by the iconic Wallace Neff in 1926, known as the Petitfils Residence. The transformation involved adding a two-story garage and private library, along with a comprehensive interior overhaul. Throughout the process, we were dedicated to preserving Neff’s original vision, treating the project as a collaboration across time, space, and style. The result is a harmonious fusion of historic architecture and modern functionality. Check out more photos of the transformation here: https://lnkd.in/gRTriAnN

Completed in 2012, the Oberfeld Residence on Nightingale Drive in the iconic “Bird Streets” above West Hollywood is a testament to creative design overcoming challenges. With a steeply sloped site and an 18-foot height limit to protect the panoramic views of the LA basin, we reimagined what was possible. By lowering the buildable area six feet into the hillside, we crafted a 9,000-square-foot home that perfectly blends with its stunning surroundings, preserving both the views and the original vision.
