This Veterans Day, we’re taking a moment to recognize and thank all who have served our country, especially the many veterans here at Spence Brothers. A special shout-out to some of our own — Jim Bissonnette, Travis Collins, Shayne Hohisel, Barry Mann, Mark McLaughlin, John Wingerter, and others who’ve served. Your courage, dedication, and hard work inspire us daily, and we’re truly grateful for everything you’ve done. To all veterans and their families, thank you for your sacrifices. #VeteransDay #ThankYouVeterans

?? We’re thrilled to announce that Spence Brothers has received the Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan, Inc.'s Award of Excellence for General Contractor Over $5 Million for our work on the Milliken Nature Center at Arch Rock! This project involved replacing a 50-year-old structure with a modern, fully accessible facility that enhances the visitor experience on Mackinac Island. Located beside the iconic Arch Rock, the center features engaging exhibits on the island’s unique geology, all while blending seamlessly into its natural surroundings with a stone facade, exposed wood beams, and energy-efficient systems. Thank you to our incredible team and partners for helping bring this vision to life. We’re proud to contribute to the island’s legacy and share its beauty with visitors. At Spence Brothers, we're dedicated to doing the work that truly matters — both on and off the job site. During Construction Suicide Prevention Week, we’re taking a stand to help end the stigma surrounding mental health in our industry. Mental health challenges are real, and they impact many of us in the construction community. In our line of work, it’s easy to fall into the mindset of “toughing it out” when things get difficult. But the truth is, this approach isn’t healthy. We believe that by talking openly, supporting each other, and knowing when to ask for help, we can make a real difference. If you’re struggling, know this: ?????? ?????? ?????? ??????????. In 2020, nearly 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. lived with a mental illness, and over 12.5 million had serious thoughts of suicide. Your mental health struggles are not a sign of weakness, and there is no shame in seeking help. Reach out for support, and together, let's build a safer, healthier industry. We all have a role to play in preventing suicide. Pay attention to the warning signs in your coworkers, and don’t hesitate to ask, “Are you okay?” Your actions could save a life. ??
