I had the honor and privilege of curating the 1st annual Spelman Entrepreneurship Club Penning Ceremony! Being the President of this club for the past 4 years, I have witnessed firsthand the beauty, growth, and power of collaborative student entrepreneurship.
Starting my business as a freshman at Spelman College, I was encouraged to use my pen to write my story- My Roots Are Rich. But I also learned that by using my pen, I had the power to inspire others to use theirs as well. I wanted to use my pen to plant the seeds that I wanted to see grow forever- not only through my business, but also in a way to encourage the next generation of young Black entrepreneurship. And now, I can proudly say that I am doing just that.
Alongside my amazing executive board members and advisor Eric Thompson, MS HCI we have successfully curated a space for young Black likeminded student innovators, business owners, generational curse breakers, and aspiring entrepreneurs at Spelman College and Morehouse College .
At the induction, each of our members received their own pen- this pen's purpose was to be a representation of entrepreneurship and innovation. To remind each of them that there is power in owning their pen- as they get to create their story, write their legacy, and turn their ideas into a reality.
