Meet the partners! Today, we present you CINECA: SPECTRUM offers the unique opportunity to CINECA to investigate use cases that highlight the seamless interaction between computation and data management, often referred to as the compute-data continuum. This collaboration with SPECTRUM partners is both exciting and challenging, as it involves designing the future #HPC landscape to meet the evolving needs of European scientists. thanks to Fabio Affinito https://lnkd.in/epG7ZkZJ

Meet the SPECTRUM partners! The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) is at the forefront of France's contributions to the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO), the world's most ambitious radio telescope project. By engaging in big data processing and participating in #SKA science working groups, CNRS is poised to deliver critical insights as a partner organisation in SPECTRUM. The French participation in the SKAO is coordinated by SKA-France, a structure led by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Dr. Chiara Ferrari, Director of SKA-France and Astronomer at the Observatoire de la C?te d'Azur (OCA), also serves as a member of SPECTRUM. https://lnkd.in/emqSiyv4 HT to Chiara Ferrari and Jeff Wagg

Very happy to be present at this expert meeting to present SPECTRUM's vision on the future of High-Energy Physics and High-Performance Computing in Europe and beyond! https://lnkd.in/eUYXGaKg
?? Boosting Exascale Computing in Europe: High-Energy Physics and High-Performance Computing Integration ?? Last week, CERN hosted a pivotal two-day technical meeting, bringing together 100+ experts—both onsite and online—from leading High-Performance Computing (#HPC) centres, research institutions, and the High-Energy Physics (#HEP) community. ?? Key Goal: Establishing a strategic foundation for sustainable collaboration between HPC resource providers and the HEP community. This effort will not only impact the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (#WLCG) but could also benefit data-intensive scientific fields at large. ?? The meeting's outcomes will contribute to an HPC whitepaper for the European Strategy for Particle Physics, outlining the technical and policy steps required to: ? Overcome remaining challenges ? Encourage broader HEP participation in HPC access calls ? Expand the use of HPC resources for both traditional applications and AI workflows ??? Who attended? Major European supercomputing centres such as EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), GENCI (France), Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany), SURF (Netherlands), CSC - IT Center for Science (Finland), CSCS (Switzerland), and Vega (Slovenia), alongside key U.S. collaborators from the IRI initiative (U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)), National Science Foundation (NSF) HPC-supported centres, WLCG site representatives, and CERN experiments and groups. ??
