Trailblazers like Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the first woman to lead Celebrity Cruises, Christine Duffy, the first female president of Carnival Cruise Line, and Captain Kate McCue, the first American woman to captain a cruise ship, are breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of leaders. However, women represent just approximately 29% of the overall maritime workforce, with the majority in the cruise sector. These statistics highlight the need to accelerate action on gender diversity, particularly in technical and leadership roles.
