?? Today’s SERVS retreat for veteran spouses was filled with connection, camaraderie, and a whole lot of green! We kicked things off with a festive St. Patrick’s Day lunch before diving into equine-assisted learning activities focused on balance—perfect as we approach the Spring Equinox. ??? With the changing season, we took a leap into spring, letting go of emotions and thoughts that no longer serve us. Our incredible equine partners helped us reflect on where we need balance in our lives, reinforcing lessons of presence, trust, and self-awareness. ???? To wrap up the day, we crafted horseshoe dreamcatchers, a beautiful symbol of flow and freedom. Adorned with feathers, they remind us of the lightness we feel when we embrace connection—both with each other and with these amazing horses. It’s always powerful to witness the strength and support within this community of veteran spouses. Mini Acts of Kindness is a unique way the Special Liberty Project brings smiles and connection to veterans in assisted living facilities. This heartwarming program was created by our founders’ daughter, Charlie, pictured here with one of her star partners, Sunny (short for Sunshine on My Shoulder). This sweet little horse lives up to her name, bringing love + light to everyone she meets. Together, Charlie, Sunny and the rest of our mini Healing Herd, spread kindness by visiting veterans, sharing joy and connection through their special bond. One veteran shared that when a little horse walked up to him, he felt a warmth he hadn’t felt in a long time. Simple moments like these make a powerful difference, offering veterans a chance to reconnect and experience pure joy.
