I’ve had the exceptional opportunity to be part of a Danish paint study assessing the health and environmental impacts of 30 different indoor paints. In collaboration with Forbrugerr?det T?nk , Danish Technological Institute Aalborg University, and Henning Larsen we have assessed (respectively) the chemical content, the off-gassing, the content assessment (mineral vs. plastic) and the climate impact of wall and wood trim paint. The Danish Consumer Council has evaluated and ranked the products based on chemical content and off-gassing. Highlights include: ·????????surprisingly high levels of ammonia in many of the tested products ·????????formaldehyde content measured in a third of the tested products ·????????PFAS was detected in 22 products, with two products indicating high levels of PFAS - one bears the EU EcoLabel, the other is a high-end market product ·????????The allergenic preservative BIT was found in half the products and also measured in off-gassing ·????????The allergenic preservative MI was found in half the products Link to the whole package is here: ?https://lnkd.in/gpgkiYzN Thanks to Realdania and Grundejernes Investeringsfond for the funding and cheers to the whole team: Nadja L.
