This past week I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Iceland with CAGLE at Spears Business - Oklahoma State University. I cannot thank Jerry Rackley, MBA and Jalyssa Brummer enough for leading this trip of a lifetime! During our time in Iceland, we explored the cities of Reykjavik and Hella and the south coast of the island. In the city, we met with companies including Digido, SORPA bs., Laxnes Horse Farm, Green by Iceland, and more! Through these visits, we learned about the economy of Iceland, along with marketing trends and how the country is trying to achieve 100% renewable energy. We were also able to see a few museums to learn about Viking history and Icelandic culture. Studying abroad was a very eye-opening opportunity and broadened my perspective in ways I never expected. I hope to have more experiences like this in the future!

Each visit gave me a deeper perspective on strategy, leadership, and global business culture. Last week, I had the privilege of joining a Spears School of Business - Oklahoma State University study abroad program in Italy. I explored Rome and Florence with a day trip to Pisa and a solo trip to Venice. This was my fifth study abroad trip and a fantastic opportunity to dive even deeper into international business and culture. Our program included visits to incredible businesses like Zest Group, an innovative startup accelerator; Donatella Cinelli Colombini Winery, where I learned about traditional winemaking; PIEROTUCCI leather factory, showcasing Italian craftsmanship; and Fattoria di Maiano Fiesole FI for an olive oil production tour and tasting. Along the way, I immersed myself in Italy's rich history and culture. I stood in the shadow of the Colosseum, marveled at the beauty of the Sistine Chapel, admired the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, and enjoyed riding gondolas through Venice's magical canals. I am deeply grateful and fortunate to have had this opportunity. Being able to explore, learn, and connect with so many amazing people including students, locals, and travelers has been a transformative experience. The memories created and lessons gained on this journey will stay with me forever. Shoutout to Marlys Mason & Angela Jungermann for leading an incredible trip!

What an unforgettable week exploring the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Gouda) with an incredible group of OSU students! From the Stroopwafel workshop, canal cruise, and visiting the Anne Frank House, to visiting multiple Dutch organizations such as Royal Flora Holland Flower auction, Henri Willig Cheese Farm, and the world's first Floating Farm, this trip was as fun as it was educational. We even made the paper in Gouda! Leading this study abroad trip has been an inspiring experience—witnessing students step outside their comfort zones, engage with global perspectives, and immerse themselves in Dutch culture was truly rewarding. From exploring Amsterdam’s rich history and innovative business landscape to Rotterdam’s thriving port (largest in Europe) and Gouda’s legendary cheese markets, every moment was a chance for learning and growth. Beyond the classroom, travel has a way of broadening horizons and building connections. Seeing these students embrace new experiences, ask thoughtful questions, and challenge their own perspectives reminds me why international education is so valuable. This past week was an unforgettable experience as I spent my Spring Break studying abroad in the Netherlands. Throughout the trip, we explored Amsterdam, Gouda, and Rotterdam where we immersed ourselves in Dutch cultural experiences and innovative business practices. We engaged with inspiring organizations such as Amsterdam InChange, Royal FloraHolland, Henry Willig Cheese Farm, Fairtrade Gemeente Gouda, the Floating Farm, and the Port of Rotterdam. A huge thank you to CAGLE at Spears Business - Oklahoma State University, Aaron Light, MBA, and Caitlin Kelley for making this experience unforgettable.
