Speakers can add an easy 10%-30% of business by dialing in their pre to post event process. Here’s how: 1. When a deal initially closes, have an extremely smooth onboarding/paperwork/pre-event marketing materials process that clearly lays out the next steps leading up to the event 2. Schedule a pre-event call (or two) leading up to the event to do a deep dive with the client and their team members into exactly what they’re looking for with this event, what’s going on internally, and what makes your presentation a smashing hit 3. Knock it out of the park on event day - obviously…you wont’t get more biz if your product sucks 4. THE POST EVENT CALL - You need to be having a post event call, scheduled DURING THE PRE-EVENT CALL, within 7 days of event completion. This call serves to gain feedback from the client and begin discussions, if appropriate, for future engagements and work 5. Clear next step/upsell/cross sell offer - have a Clear next step for the client to engage in working with you. Whether that’s engaging with you in a consulting basis, another engagement, an online course, etc. doesn’t matter. Just have a clear next step offer for the client to engage with. 6. Post-event emails - have post event emails that go out to: collect client feedback, finalize logistics/loose ends for this event you just did, and ask for referrals and introductions 7. Make referring you and working with you again easy - create forms that make it easy for clients to leave a testimonial and/or drop in a referrals information It blows my mind how many speakers are dropping the ball by not having a clear and streamlined post-event process… If you’re a speaker who: ?? Had a prospect for M.I.I. Professional Speaking have to reschedule a call from this last Monday. Sent him an email and added a task for the team to follow up. completely forgot about him and he re-booked today. Reminded me of how when I first started in the speaking space and had very minimal opportunities and calls, I would've probably been hitting this dude up 3 times a day to reschedule, waiting for that reschedule to come in lol.
