How often does it happen that an SE candidate hands in a coding assignment that is head and shoulders better than most of your engineering candidates ???With Walker Lockard, that’s exactly what happened! Walker is coming onboard as a developer success engineer. He’s that rare individual that’s capable of handling sticky client conversations and can be a core contributor to the product. And not only does he know how to manage customers and build software, he knows how to build buildings! Truly a jack of all trades. Welcome to the team Walker, I’m excited to be building with you! #sdks #apis #startup
Thanks Derick Ruiz thanks for the shoutout. But as you mentioned so much of the credit for our docs lie with Rodrigo Pombo for building CodeHike We can't imagine writing docs without his library. Every company should be building with CodeHike to create a more seamless understanding of what code snippets are actually doing. v1 of Codehike just came out, and there's a whole bunch of new features that we're looking forward to incorporating. Stay tuned to see how our docs develop further!

Basic code snippets are destroying your docs' developer experience. Speakeasy shows a smarter split-screen approach that makes code instantly understandable. Your documentation is often the first hands-on experience developers have with your tool. Here's what's wrong with traditional code snippets: 1. Forcing developers to mentally connect disconnected pieces of a file 2. Relying on minimal inline comments to explain complex logic 3. Constant context switching between code and explanations 4. No syntax highlighting makes code harder to scan When developers have to play ping-pong between code snippets and explanations, you're not just testing their patience, you're risking adoption. But there's a smarter way ?? Speakeasy's documentation shows what code snippets on a modern developer docs should look like: - Split screen approach where code and explanations live side by side - Automatic highlighting of relevant code sections as you read - Real-time synchronized explanations Upgrading your docs' code snippets isn't just about aesthetics. It's about making your developer tool more accessible and easier to understand. Don't let your powerful dev tools be handicapped by basic code blocks. --- Found this post valuable? DM me, Derick Ruiz, for a documentation audit that will help you identify where enhanced code presentations can dramatically improve your developer experience and developer adoption.

?? New Video! We're doing deep dives on several platforms for SDK generation over the coming weeks. First up... Speakeasy. Founding Developer Advocate, Nolan Sullivan takes us through the steps to generate a TypeScript SDK from an OpenAPI document and shares some of his tips on how to get adoption for a newly created SDK. https://lnkd.in/g4isi33N

Off the back of the team's SF hackweek, we're shipping fast ?? ??? Label-based versioning in Github - Now you can control your SDKs' version bumps directly from the pull request. Mark things as major , minor or patch to trigger generation with the desired version. ?? OpenAPI transformations - The most common edits to your OpenAPI spec are now available as off the shelf transformations. Filter generation to specific operations, remove unused schemas, and correct general formatting without ever needing to open your IDE. ?? Overlay summaries - Apply an overlay to your OpenAPI spec and get a tidy summary of all the edits made for fast feedback and iteration.
If anyone at #Kubecon needs SDKs, Terraform providers or docs, our team is ready! Keep an eye out for the yellow ?? Hector Hernandez, Katrina Sanzi, Logan Gingerich
