The "Emerging Trends in Medical Plastics" conference, held for the first time in Central Europe, was organized by the University Institute of the Tomá? Bata University in Zlín in cooperation with the scientific company Society of Plastic Engineers based in the USA (SPE, The European Medical Polymers Division). + I had the honor of moderating and presenting at the Mike Sepe Symposium on March 5th at ANTEC in Philadelphia, PA USA. It was a very special event for a very special person that featured 7 presenters who all knew Mike and were his friends. The presenters--Jeffrey A. Jansen, me, Mary Kosarzycki, John Beaumont, John Bozzelli, Paul Gramann and Elena Moore--included their personal memories of Mike in their very high-quality technical presentations. The room was near capacity for much of the day, a great tribute to Mike. Jeff started the event by reading a personal note from Mike's wife, Audrey, that was heartfelt and genuine. Thanks to Jeff and Akanksha Garg for helping put this Symposium together, and to Patrick Farrey, Sue Milazzo Wojnicki and Ivan Dario Lopez Gomez at SPE: Inspiring Plastics Professionals for their support and willingness to alter the traditional speaker format to accommodate the longer presentations that were a key part of this event. Special thanks to Erik Foltz for recording John Bozzelli's presentation during a Zoom call prior to the symposium so I could show it during the event. We all felt Mike's presence in the room throughout the day.
