SPCA Tampa Bay is a For-All animal shelter and public veterinary center in Pinellas County. Our shelter in Largo cares for more than 8,000 animals annually that have been surrendered by their owners, along with injured wildlife. We are the best organization to adopt a dog in Tampa Bay... and adopt a cat or critter too. SPCA Tampa Bay cares for dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotic animals, and livestock like goats and pigs. Animals receive immunizations, medical care, enrichment, and loving care while they live at our shelter. Our adoptions volunteers work to match families with animals that are a good fit with the family’s home, lifestyle and personalities. There is no time limit for an animal’s stay at our shelter, and every animal receives compassionate care, regardless of its breed or size. Our Vision: Create a community where every animal matters. Our Mission: Through passionate collaboration with our community, we transform the lives of animals. SPCA Tampa Bay is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit locally governed by a volunteer board of directors. Like most U.S. animal shelters, we rely entirely on our program revenue and fundraising to sustain our operations, provide care for animals and serve the community. Despite a similar name, we are not affiliated with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or Humane Society of the U.S.

Thank you to this amazing group of Raymond James volunteers who donated their time and talent to love on our shelter pups!
Last Friday, Raymond James provided me with the opportunity to volunteer at SPCA Tampa Bay - an animal shelter that annually cares for over 8,000 animals surrendered by their owners or injured in the wild. During my time at SPCA Tampa Bay, I was honored to be able to walk and spend quality moments with some of the animals outside of their cages. Among the six dogs I interacted with were Crush, Tyson, Jeremy, Zeus, Pilot, and Cane. Each one of these dogs had wonderful personalities and I am truly taken away by some of their stories. The dedicated staff and volunteers who help support these animals everyday are true hero's. They are inspiring individuals who put the needs of these animals first. I would like to extend a special thank you to Colleen Maguire for having us and coordinating this amazing volunteer opportunity. This was certainly a memorable experience for both myself and fellow co-workers here at Raymond James. Your dedication and love for these animals is admirable. I look forward to more volunteer opportunity's at SPCA Tampa Bay in the near future! I am incredibly grateful to work for a company like Raymond James that actively supports our local community. Thank you once again for giving me the opportunity to give back to the community and supporting animal welfare.
