Recently, SIG Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs) Gary Roller and Jason Moghaddas attended the Feather River Stewardship Coalition Tour in Plumas County, California. The collaborative group spent time discussing the effects and recovery of the 2021 Dixie Fire on lands owned and managed by the Feather River Land Trust, Plumas National Forest, and several local private landowners. Discussing priorities, treatments, reforestation, results, and lessons learned with local resource managers, agencies, local NGOs, and members of the public on the ground is essential in successfully addressing the myriad of issues challenging Sierra Nevada Communities and Ecosystems. Developed by Dr. Natalia Hasler and Dr. Christopher Williams at Clark University, this dataset represents the latest advancement in the National Forest Carbon Monitoring System (NFCMS). This data is a game-changer for conservation, carbon accounting, and climate resilience efforts, providing tools for custom analysis and insights into carbon stock and sequestration potential.
