? Customer Spotlight ? ? Our independent customer?Nilssen’s Foods?recently hosted? Our Family?spokesperson and four-time Paralympian Melissa Stockwell at their Zumbrota store for a one-mile USA Run. ? Community members joined her for the event, which began with a local school band performing the National Anthem in honor of Melissa’s service as a dedicated veteran. After the run, Melissa shared her inspiring story, while attendees enjoyed exclusive house-made brats. Proceeds from the event and a $5 donation per runner went to Zumbrota-Mazeppa School.?This was a successful day honoring veterans and supporting the local community – an example of what our Core Behavior We Serve truly means. ? We’re honored to have Melissa as part of Our Family and proud of the support from our independent customers like Nilssen’s.??? ? #SpartanNash #WeServe #independentcustomer #PeopleFirst #OurFamily ?

As a customer-focused, innovative food solutions company, our teams are always looking at ways to create solutions that improve efficiency in our stores. Over the past few months, our SpartanNash retail stores transitioned to Logile, Inc. – a new time and attendance system that automates work schedules for Associates and leaders. Mastering precise staffing will allow our Associates to spend more time engaging with store guests, which will create an improved store experience. As a result of the success of this project rollout, we are excited to share that we were honored with the Implementation of the Year Award from Logile. This award showcases the effectiveness of the work done by so many Associates. Congratulations to everyone involved! ???? #SpartanNash #PeopleFirst #WeWin #Retail

We are energized to highlight another amazing SpartanNash speaker, Courtney Van Gilder (Carlson), Manager, ESG & Community Engagement, who joined a panel on Progressive Grocer’s Grocery Impact Conference stage. She joined fellow female grocer leaders to discuss associate empowerment. The panel discussed the best ways to empower store teams to make their own impact, specifically by leading the charge at crushing all forms of waste in retail stores. ? ? As a long-standing member of the SpartanNash community engagement team, Courtney was able to provide keen insights on the panel of how we inspire our Associates to live our Core Behavior We Serve, in our communities. Courtney has also played a key role in pioneering SpartanNash’s ESG reporting throughout the entire company earning her a spot in Crain’s Grand Rapids 40 under 40 list in 2024. ? ? Great job, Courtney! ?? ? See you next year, Grocery Impact! Thank you, Progressive Grocer for highlighting our star-powered Associates! ? ? #WeServe #SpartanNash #Community #GroceryImpact?
