In the latest episode of Below the Line, I had the privilege of sitting down with Phil Feisal, president of Spartanburg Medical Center with the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, to explore the mindset and mission that fuel his leadership. Phil’s journey from Memphis to Spartanburg reflects a deep commitment to community health, workforce development, and innovation in healthcare. We discussed the hospital’s role in expanding access to quality care, investing in future healthcare professionals, and preparing for the challenges ahead. Beyond his executive responsibilities, Phil’s passion for endurance sports offers a unique perspective on leadership. He shared how the discipline and mental toughness required in training translate into his daily role. “Leadership is all about relationships.
