This week, I had the honor of hosting a neighborhood social for the Roxbury community through Mayor Michelle Wu's SPARK Boston Council. It was a joy to bring people together for an event that celebrated connection and community. A special thank you to Boston City Councilor At-Large Henry Santana for joining us and showing his support! It meant so much to have you there in community ! I’d also like to give a huge shoutout to Aidan McDonough our director, for helping me plan and execute this event. Your guidance was a crucial part on the success of this event!! As someone who has been shaped by the Roxbury community, it’s deeply fulfilling to give back to a place that has given me so much. The SPARK Boston Council is made up of 20-35yo civic leaders with representation from almost all of Boston's neighborhoods. During their council term, SPARK members work to engage and activate their peers, Boston's largest age demographic. This year's cohort has been hard at work planning opportunities to get engaged and learn more about the work City of Boston is doing to make Boston a home for all. OYEA is excited to announce?Youth Speaks Boston (YSB), the first-ever citywide youth needs assessment to focus on Boston residents ages 14 to 25 during afterschool and after-work hours.
