PUPDATE: Something big happened the other day, and it was a little confusing at first! My amazing work family at Spalding DeDecker threw me a going-away party, which was fun, but I didn’t know I was actually going anywhere. Then, my moms, dad (Mark Brown), and big sister took me back to Leader Dogs for the Blind. I was so excited because there were so many incredible smells to sniff and explore! My family seemed sad, but I didn’t understand why. My new friends at Leader Dogs were so nice—they introduced me to lots of other dogs and took me to explore new places. I even got to play in the snow, which is one of my favorite things! Then came the most exciting news: I’ve been enrolled at Leader Dog University! I’m starting in a class called Foundations, the first of four levels of training I’ll complete over the next four months. I will learn so much and work super hard to become a Leader Dog. I can’t wait to see how I’ll help change someone’s life in the future! Spalding DeDecker was humbled to accept the Mayor's Business Council Champion Award from Mayor Bryan Barnett in the City of Rochester Hills at the RHISE (Rochester Hills Innovators and Senior Executives) Holiday Celebration. From the RHISE Holiday Celebration program: The Mayor's Business Council Champion Award is presented to a company located in RH for its overall performance in the past year, be it overcoming an obstacle, experiencing tremendous growth, expanding operations, launching a new successful technology, celebrating a milestone in the community, or giving back to the community. This year marks a significant milestone for Spalding DeDecker - 70 years in business! In addition, Spalding DeDecker was the first Mayor's Business Council company this year to participate in the Corporate Puppy Program [where employees raise a Future Leader Dog until it is ready for training] and welcomed Ginny. In addition, this year Spalding DeDecker was selected as one of the 50 Best and Brightest Places to Work in Metro Detroit by Corp! Magazine. They have expanded their direct client services with the acquisition of LAP, Inc. It has truly been an incredible year for them. The team at SDA has always been a great supporter of the City of Rochester Hills and the Mayor's Business Council. Congratulations and Happy 70th Birthday!
