At Space Coast Discovery, a not-for-profit preschool and primary school for children with and without special needs, we believe that children are more alike than they are different. We believe that students don’t have to fit into the program – we fit the program to match the needs of the child. For over 35 years, Space Coast Discovery has provided families and the community with highly qualified preschool and primary teachers who work with therapists, behaviorists, and early interventionists to provide equal learning opportunities for all children. Our vision is that children of all abilities will have access to quality, individualized education that will provide them with the academic and social skills needed to succeed in life. We are expanding our programs, and now provide services for children from six weeks up to sixth grade. Space Coast Discovery provides the organization that volunteers and donors need to provide children with and without special needs a unique, individualized and inclusive education experience.

We would like to welcome, Greg Smith, as our Chief Executive Officer to our school family. Greg brings decades of leadership expertise in non-profit social services and for-profit organizations to his new role as CEO of Space Coast Discovery, a K-8?grade school and infant-VPK?preschool in Brevard County. The school serves a diverse population, including children with special needs, typical learners, and gifted students. With expertise in multi-disciplinary team management, operational efficiency, grant writing, fundraising, strategic planning, and fostering community partnerships, Greg has significantly improved and expanded services to children.? ? Greg’s passion for ensuring all children receive equal learning opportunities, regardless of their abilities, inspired him to join Space Coast Discovery. Many students, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum and those with other neuro-diverse learning challenges, require healthcare services such as speech, physical, and occupational therapy to enhance their social skills and learning abilities in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.?Greg’s strength lies in developing holistic, inclusive solutions that will empower the parents and teachers to collaborate effectively for the child’s best interest.? ? A U.S. Army Veteran originally from Louisiana and Native American of the Cherokee Nation, Greg has lived in Brevard County for 35 years. He holds a Professional Masters in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s of Health Services Management from Florida Institute of Technology.?In addition, he received a Bachelor’s in Economics with a minor in Sociology from Louisiana State University. His education and experience align perfectly with Space Coast Discovery’s philosophy which combines a compassionate, caring environment with state-of-the-art technology, innovative teaching and creative, positive energy.
