We are expanding access to space for all of humanity.
关于我们
Space for Humanity is organizing the planet’s first Sponsored Citizen Astronaut Mission, where leaders, from any walk of life, can apply for an opportunity to go to space and experience the Overview Effect: the cognitive shift in awareness that occurs when a human being looks down on the Earth from space. Each year, a new crew is selected from a diverse group of leaders from around the globe. Upon their return, each citizen astronaut has a commitment to leveraging that experience for the collective good. Our mission is to expand access to space, train our leaders of tomorrow, and contribute to a culture of interconnectedness as we venture into the stars. Through our citizen spaceflight program, leadership training, and collaborative efforts to educate the public, we are setting the stage to create the world we want, both here on Earth and throughout the cosmos. We believe our future in space will be determined by who we resolve to be on Earth, today.

Happy Engineer Week! Let us take you on the remarkable journey of our first Citizen Astronaut, Katya Echazarreta. From her earliest days, Katya was a girl with stars in her eyes and the spark of curiosity that couldn’t be dimmed. Her passion for understanding how things worked led her to become an electrical engineer interning at NASA’s JPL. But Katya’s journey didn’t stop there—she had her sights set on the cosmos. With determination, grit, and a killer application, Katya became Space for Humanity’s first Citizen Astronaut, blazing a trail on Blue Origin’s NS-21. Her adventures beyond Earth not only inspired millions, but also transformed her perspective on our planet and humanity’s potential. Today, Katya serves on our Board of Directors, bringing her visionary insights and unwavering commitment to our mission. Her story is a testament to the power of engineering to transcend boundaries and reach for the stars. Join us in celebrating Katya Echazarreta and all the incredible engineers who make dreams take flight! Together, we can engineer a brighter future for humanity. ?? If you’re an engineer, or studying to become one, tell us in the comments about your journey and hopes for a brighter future. Ing. ??? Happy Pluto Day! ??? Today, we celebrate the incredible work of friend of the organization Alan Stern, and his groundbreaking research on Pluto. As Alan puts it, "We really just didn't realize the diversity of planetary types in our solar system. Pluto looked like a misfit because it was the only one we saw. And just as a Chihuahua is still a dog, these ice dwarfs are still planetary bodies. They're large enough to make themselves round by self gravity, and they surely pass the test of planethood." Join Space for Humanity in recognizing the fascinating discoveries that redefine our understanding of the cosmos. From Pluto's icy heart to its intriguing moons, let’s honor the journey that has expanded our horizons and sparked our curiosity. ?? Who else is dreaming of the cosmos today? Share your favorite Pluto facts or artwork in the comments and let's celebrate the wonders of our universe together! @Alan Stern #PlutoDay2025 #SpaceForHumanity #AlanStern #CosmicWonders #ReachForTheStars

??? Imagine a future where space travel is not only more affordable but also eco-friendly! Scientists at the University of Bologna are pioneering a groundbreaking water-based electric thrusters project. This innovative technology aims to convert water into plasma, creating a high-energy propulsion system that could transform how satellites and spacecraft move through space. ???? By using water as fuel, this technology offers a safer, more sustainable alternative to traditional chemical fuels, reducing the environmental impact of space missions. Plus, it could even allow spacecraft to refuel using water sources found in space, like on the Moon or asteroids! ???? NASA has already demonstrated this technology with their Pathfinder Technology Demonstrator-1 CubeSat, which successfully launched in 2021 using water as fuel. This breakthrough could pave the way for more accessible and environmentally responsible space exploration. Imagine the possibilities for deep-space missions and satellite deployment!???? #SpaceExploration #SustainableTech #WaterFueledSpacecraft #Innovation #FutureOfSpaceTravel

??? Celebrating the Stars of Today and Tomorrow: International Day of Women and Girls in Science! ??? Today, we honor the brilliance, resilience, and boundless curiosity of women and girls who dare to explore the cosmos, unravel the mysteries of the universe, and push the boundaries of human knowledge. ???? From the pioneering calculations of Katherine Johnson that launched astronauts into space, to the groundbreaking discoveries of Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African American woman in space, women have always been at the forefront of scientific exploration. Yet, their contributions have often been overlooked, their voices silenced, and their potential underestimated. But the tide is turning. ?? Today, we celebrate the women and girls who are breaking barriers, shattering glass ceilings, and inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and explorers. We celebrate the young girls who gaze at the stars and dream of becoming astronauts, the researchers who are unlocking the secrets of the universe, and the leaders who are paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable future in STEM. Just look to our two incredible Citizen Astronauts: Katya Echazarreta (CA-1), an electrical engineer and the first Citizen Astronaut to fly to space, who has become a beacon of inspiration for young women everywhere. And Sara Sabry (CA-2), the first Egyptian astronaut, the first African woman, and the first Arab woman to reach space, whose journey is rewriting history and proving that the sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning. ???? At Space for Humanity, we believe that space is for everyone. We are committed to fostering a world where women and girls from all walks of life have the opportunity to reach for the stars, to contribute to the scientific community, and to lead humanity into a new era of discovery. So, here's to the women and girls who are changing the world, one experiment, one equation, one rocket launch at a time. ???? Your brilliance lights up the universe, and your courage inspires us all. Let's continue to support, uplift, and celebrate the incredible contributions of women and girls in science. Together, we can create a future where the stars are within reach for everyone. ?? Ing.
