Since the firm’s inception, we have provided our clients with exceptional service and expertise as architectural consultants. SP Arch Inc. is an African American, woman owned firm licensed to practice architecture in the state of Maryland and can obtain licensure in all fifty states through our NCARB certification. In Maryland, we are pre-qualified with Baltimore County, MDOT certified as a minority/woman owned firm and certified with the City of Baltimore. Federally, we are registered with the SAM and are a self certified EDWOSB. Our years of experience have provided varied design opportunities. We have extensive strength in the areas of historic preservation and adaptive reuse and providing architectural support to large mechanical and civil engineering projects. SP Arch Inc. is very proud of Opeyemi Ikotun AIA, an associate with our firm who was the designer of this piece that was selected to be built this year in Venice. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
I’m proud to celebrate an inspiring project led by my dear friend coleman a. jordan at Morgan State University, supported by SEGD, showcasing HBCU architectural excellence at the 2025 Venice Biennale. A special shoutout to my alma mater, Tuskegee University, for their significant collaboration in the “RECALL & RESPONSE” exhibition. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life and continuing to highlight our rich heritage and contributions. https://lnkd.in/e_UdGt6f

Gov. Wes Moore visited the new Baltimore City District Court construction site today to see the progress. This has been an opportunity for us to partner with the team of Barry Miller with Maryland DGS, BFM architects, Cam Construction and the engineering firms that are making this project one that Baltimore, my home town, can be proud of.

19 years ago today Prof. Mahendra Parehk and I started SP Arch Inc. together. He had been my thesis professor at Morgan SU. Anyone who knew me when I was a student would have know my moto, "I am only here so that I can qualify to take the ARE to become a licensed arch so that I can start my own firm. Mahendra took me upon it. Following his lead, I have hired and mentored countless Morgan students. In 2008 he retired from the firm and teaching to follow a more quiet life of study and design. On Monday morning ET, he past away quietly in his sleep at home in India. He will be missed. To learn more about his work you can check out his instagram page: https://lnkd.in/esEf6gem. Or his blog and lecture series at Morgan SU.
