Inspiring behavioral change is no easy feat—but when it means reducing crashes and saving lives, it’s worth the challenge. That’s the driving force behind the SHIFT Idaho initiative we developed with the Idaho Transportation Department: to shift conversations, language, and behaviors and make Idaho roads safer for everyone. We work with ITD to develop full-scale campaigns tackling some of Idaho’s major traffic challenges, like: — Boosting seatbelt usage — Reducing impaired and speeding-related crashes — Minimizing distracted driving We also align with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA calendar in covering topics like Child Passenger Safety, Winter Safety,? Bicycle Safety, Pedestrian Safety, and Teen Driver Safety. These campaigns cover everything from out-of-home advertising— billboards, pump toppers, bar media—to videography, animation, and data-driven blog content. The work ITD does is truly saving lives. It's a privilege to be a part of it. A 50th birthday only comes once. We had a blast working with Dick Anderson Construction to travel back in time and tell their success story—from 1975 until today—using archive footage and interviews with folks who have been part of DAC for decades. We're proud to partner with such an incredible Montana company. Cheers to 50 Years, DAC! ?? ____ #DAC50Years #video #montana #constructionmarketing
50 years ago... what was DAC like? Joe Robbins remembers those days: "Couple pickups, a gun rack in the back, few dogs on the job site, and less than ten people." Through the 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's and now 20's—we've been through a lot. In our extended 50-year video, we talked with folks who've been there along the way. Looking ahead, Marty Schuma put it well: "I truly believe the sky is the limit. Who we are as a people and as a company will take us all across the Western U.S." Watch the full story here: ___ #constructionlife #construction #constructionmanagement #dickandersonconstruction #DAC50Years

We're celebrating Dick Anderson Construction all year! It's been a privilege to partner with them for many years—and this year, they turn 50. ?? Cheers to the entire team for your continued success. The sky truly is the limit. ?? #DAC50Years
This is a big year for us here at DAC. 2025 marks 50 years as a company. From our early days when Dick Anderson was repairing roofs... To a world-class construction management firm with over 450 employees and eight offices across Montana, Wyoming, and Arizona... We're humbled and grateful to be here five decades later. All these years, the same core motto has driven us forward: "Always Part of the Solution." We've been part of the solution in communities across the West since 1975. Looking ahead— the sky is the limit. Thank you to our customers, the communities we serve, our incredible leadership team, and each and every employee and contractor at DAC. Your trust, commitment, and investment in quality work are the key to our success. We would not exist without you. Cheers to 50 years! ____ #DAC50Years #construction #constructionlife #constructioncareers

What's the best way to talk to teens about traffic safety? Meet them where they are. Duh. Teens in Idaho are 2.6 times more likely to be involved in a crash than drivers of any other age group. We have to do better. We've been in a lot of places serving up a lot of messages for teen driver safety week but these might be my favorites. They are sidewalk chalk installations we placed near high traffic areas for teens - these photos are near the stadium where most Boise high schools play their football games. The communication landscape is constantly changing - especially among young people. We have to be creative and innovative as we try to keep up - I'm proud to have a team that's willing to jump in and take risks! We've been busy! Thanks for the awesome behind-the-scenes capture Bill Kotowski. Always a pleasure working with Bill and the Idaho Transportation Department team to promote safe transportation—whether you're walking, biking, riding or driving. More to come! ?? ___ #videography #marketing #bts
It's been a busy couple days for our little team. We've been crisscrossing Southern Idaho with our friends from the Idaho Walk Bike Alliance and Boise Bicycle Project to tell the stories of people who walk, ride, roll, and drive. The content we captured will be used in the classroom as part of our Youth Active Transportation Safety Grant from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and NRSF. We're also creating a new statewide campaign inspired by Jonathan Adkins and his challenge at last year's GHSA annual meeting to create an awakening around traffic safety. You'll have to stay tuned for more but until then, here's a little behind the scenes action for you ;) Idaho Transportation Department Tabitha Smith Ellen Mattila SOVRN - A creative agency

Meet Josiah Duggan, the newest addition to the SOVRN team! Josiah is a graphic design student at Northwest Nazarene University, studying branding, illustration, and print media. He's spent the last several months working as an intern at SOVRN. And he's awesome! We’re excited to officially welcome him to the team. A few fun facts about Josiah: - he plays the bass - he collects hats from events and places he visits - his always-on-point aesthetic is entirely curated from vintage thrift stores - When he was 16 he dragged his family to Salt Lake City for a workshop by the designer Draplin We're grateful you're with us, Josiah. Keep crushing it. __ #design #marketing #graphicdesign #branding #sovrn #boise

What a privilege to speak with Carrie Wiss, a first responder in Boise County, about what it's like to be an Advanced EMT. This was part of a larger campaign with ITD highlighting the importance of buckling up and driving focused on rural roads. We're grateful for those who volunteer their time and skills to be first responders. Like Carrie says, "We all want to get where we're going safely, and sometimes that means taking a moment to slow down, be safe, and be considerate to others." Love working with Bill Kotowski and the ITD team on this campaign. Excited to share more! #itd #transportation #marketing #storytelling
Last year at the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) Annual Meeting, I participated in a panel discussion focused on communication and how to create a greater sense of urgency about our traffic safety crisis. During the discussion, someone asked how we communicate about roadside care and emergency services. A fellow panelist suggested using a billboard. This idea sparked my interest, and when I got back to Boise, our team started brainstorming billboard concepts and how that might look (Jonathan Adkins was right when he said I'd probably do it). Once we had a first concept put together, we reached out to some of our partners who work in trauma centers and as emergency medical technicians. As we began those conversations, I learned a lot and had many aha moments. I never realized how much of our state is covered by volunteer EMTs. I learned about different levels of trauma centers and some of the challenges about getting critically injured people to our level 2 trauma centers (Idaho doesn’t have a level 1 trauma center). I learned about the importance of the “golden hour” and providing care as quickly as possible. I learned that there was much more to this story than what might fit on a billboard. As we collaborated with our partners to better understand these challenges, it became clear that we needed to amplify the voices of our EMTs. These professionals witness firsthand the devastating consequences of traffic crashes, particularly in rural areas where many fatal crashes involve a single vehicle leaving the roadway and an unbuckled driver. By sharing the stories and experiences of EMTs, our goal is to change the belief that not wearing a seat belt doesn’t affect anyone else. Our goal was to encourage people to slow down, put away distractions, and drive sober, especially on rural roads. Working closely with EMTs helped us craft a more impactful and authentic message, creating a stronger sense of urgency about traffic safety in our state. The woman in this video is one of many who give up their time to help people in need - please wear your seat belt to help them out!
