This executive order reclassifies certain federal employees in policy-making, policy-determining, and policy-influencing roles into a new category that removes traditional civil service protections, such as the ability to appeal terminations through the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). Who Does This Affect? Limited Scope: Only a small fraction of federal employees—those in specific policy-related roles—fall under this classification. Potential Risks: For those reclassified, job protections are significantly reduced, leaving employees more vulnerable to termination. What You Need to Know 1??
