?? Schedule F Returns: What Federal Employees Need to Know ?? The recent reinstatement of the controversial Schedule F classification, now renamed Schedule Policy/Career, is causing significant concern across the federal workforce. At Southworth PC, we’re here to provide clarity and support to federal employees navigating this new landscape. What Is Schedule F (Schedule Policy/Career)? This executive order reclassifies certain federal employees in policy-making, policy-determining, and policy-influencing roles into a new category that removes traditional civil service protections, such as the ability to appeal terminations through the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). Who Does This Affect? Limited Scope: Only a small fraction of federal employees—those in specific policy-related roles—fall under this classification. Potential Risks: For those reclassified, job protections are significantly reduced, leaving employees more vulnerable to termination. What You Need to Know 1?? The Process Is Just Starting: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is still defining which positions will fall under this classification. For most federal employees, this change will not apply. 2?? Legal Protections Still Exist: Even if reclassified, federal employees still have rights under anti-discrimination laws and other workplace protections. 3?? Our Commitment: At Southworth PC, we are closely monitoring the rollout of this policy and its implications for federal employees. What Should You Do? If you are in a policy-making role and concerned about being reclassified, reach out for a consultation to understand your rights. For most federal employees, this order will not affect your current classification or protections. ?? Contact Southworth PC at 866-333-0120 for a free consultation. Schedule F is just the beginning of a series of changes reshaping federal employment. At Southworth PC, we’re ready to stand with federal employees to ensure their rights are upheld during this critical time. #ScheduleF #FederalEmployees #EmploymentLaw #SouthworthPC #MSPB #CivilService

?? Return-to-Office Mandate: What Federal Employees Need to Know ?? The recent executive order requiring federal employees to return to in-office work full-time has created significant challenges and uncertainty across the federal workforce. At Southworth PC, we’re here to provide clarity, support, and legal guidance during this transition. What You Need to Know 1?? The Mandate: The order requires all federal employees to report to their duty stations full-time, with limited exceptions at the discretion of agency leaders. 2?? Your Rights Still Apply: If you have a medical condition or disability that requires telework, you may qualify for reasonable accommodations under federal law. Courts have consistently held that telework can be a viable accommodation, especially for positions that have successfully operated remotely for years. 3?? What Agencies Must Prove: Agencies face an uphill battle to argue that in-office work is an “essential function” for roles that have been performed remotely for years. Employees may have stronger cases for telework accommodations given the widespread use of remote work across the federal government. How We’re Helping At Southworth PC, we’ve been preparing for these challenges by updating our systems and sharpening our expertise. We’ve already assisted countless federal employees in securing telework accommodations and standing up for their rights. If you’re concerned about returning to the office or believe you may qualify for telework as a reasonable accommodation, let’s talk. ?? Contact us at 866-333-0120 for a free consultation. We know this mandate has left many federal employees uncertain about their future, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Let us help you protect your rights and move forward with confidence. #FederalEmployees #ReturnToOffice #TeleworkRights #ReasonableAccommodations #EmploymentLaw #SouthworthPC

?? Standing Up for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce ?? The federal government’s recent executive order dismantling DEI programs and placing DEI employees on administrative leave has created significant uncertainty and concern. At Southworth PC, we believe this action is more than a workplace shift—it’s a direct challenge to the values of equity and fairness that these programs were designed to uphold. As a law firm dedicated to protecting federal employees, we’re committed to standing at the forefront of this issue. Here’s what you need to know: ? Potential Legal Violations: DEI employees often engage in protected EEO activity, such as addressing workplace discrimination. Retaliating against employees for this work may violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. ? Adverse Employment Actions: Even being placed on paid administrative leave can qualify as an adverse employment action if it harms reputation or future career prospects. ? Our Commitment: We are actively filing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to uncover how these decisions were made and ensure transparency and accountability. We’re here to support federal employees who feel they’ve been unfairly targeted or retaliated against due to their DEI work. If you believe your rights have been violated, we encourage you to reach out. ?? Contact Southworth PC at 866-333-0120 for a free consultation. DEI isn’t just a set of programs—it’s a commitment to creating workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. At Southworth PC, we’re proud to fight for that vision. #DEI #FederalEmployees #EmploymentLaw #EqualOpportunity #SouthworthPC
